I’ve included Nisolo’s huaraches in our Mother’s Day gift guide for several years now. The Nashville-based manufacturer is a Certified B Corp. To get certification, businesses are required to measure the impacts on their workers, the environment, the community, as well as their customers. Nisolo partners with Ecosphere+ to offset its carbon emissions and plant trees in the Amazon rain forest.

These huaraches are handmade from woven leather, will stretch to fit your feet, and last for years. Of course, in most parts of the US, you won’t be able to wear warm-weather shoes for a while, so Nisolo is holding a 25 percent off sale sitewide, with up to 60 percent off in its sale section.

Tentree (Men’s), Tentree (Women’s

WIRED Associate Editor Julian Chokkattu says these pants from Tentree are amazingly soft and comfortable, and better yet, they’re eco-friendly. They’re made from organic cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel, a wood pulp fiber. Tentree also plants a tree for every purchase you make.

Madewell’s Sustainable Sweaters are 30 percent off

Madewell with code VERYMERRY

The demand for cheap cashmere has put an unsustainable demand on cashmere goat farmers. Madewell’s recycled cashmere is one of our favorites. It’s not as thin as other recycled cashmere sweaters we’ve tried.

Cotopaxi’s Tarak Del Día Backpack Uses Repurposed Fabric: $70 ($30 off)

Cotopaxi (Enter LLAMACHEER at Checkout)

I am a huge fan of Cotopaxi. This bag and apparel manufacturer’s motto is “Do Good,” and it seems to be doing a lot better at that than most. One percent of its profits go towards grants and nonprofits in six focus countries to address poverty and community development. Cotopaxi’s Del Día collection is made using leftover scraps from other companies’ production runs. Each worker gets to choose and put together one-of-a-kind bags that are eye-catching, and most importantly, incredibly versatile, durable, and light.

The Tarak Del Día is one of my favorite light, fast backpacks that can be customized for a hike or a quick trip into the city, by either adding or removing a foam frame sheet, compression straps, or hip belt. But if you can wait until Cyber Monday, Cotopaxi will throw a Luzon Del Día in with the purchase of its Fuego down jackets and vests, which will also be 30 percent off. (Sizes are very limited right now, but I also love the Libre sweater, which keeps my arms warm but has a breathable back panel for hiking. skiing, or biking in the cold.)
