SAVE UP TO $90: Select versions of the Apple Watch Series 6 (WiFi and WiFi + Cellular) are on sale on Amazon for up to 18% off as of June 8.

Watch this space: Apple’s signature wearable is gearing up for a minor facelift.

Announced during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) Monday, watchOS 8 will bring messaging improvements, a new sleep metric, a dynamic new watch face, new workout types, and a revamped Breathe app (now the Mindfulness app) to the Apple Watch interface.

It’s nothing particularly exciting, TBH — and as Mashable tech reporter Rachel Kraus pointed out, it seems to lay the groundwork for an underwhelming next-gen model (which will likely debut alongside watchOS 8 this coming fall). But props to Apple for trying to help its users stay healthy and more connected in these still-weird times, at least.

If you want to upgrade to the current latest and greatest Tim Cook has to offer (which will get the watchOS 8 update upon its release), you’ll be happy to hear that last fall’s Apple Watch Series 6 is on sale on Amazon ahead of its Prime Day shopping event. Depending on the color and configuration — WiFi plus cellular connectivity or just WiFi, 40mm or 44mm case size — you can save anywhere from $70 to $90. (Note that many styles are backordered, listed as “temporarily out of stock,” or marked as “in stock soon,” but they’re still available for purchase so you can lock in that sale price.)

For the uninitiated, the Series 6 is a health- and fitness-forward smartwatch released in Sept. 2020 (alongside the more budget-friendly Apple Watch SE) that features an always-on altimeter, an electrical heart sensor (ECG app), sleep tracking, and a SpO2 sensor for blood oxygen level readings. A zippy dual-core processor makes it 20 percent faster than its predecessor, the Series 5 (or so Apple claims), while its Always-On Retina display is 2.5 times brighter outdoors when your wrist is down, making its face easier to see in sunlight. Plus, its long-lasting battery gets you up to 18 hours of use on a single charge. (Click here to read the Mashable tech team’s take on all these features.)

The blue button below will take you directly to the Series 6’s Amazon product page — grab one on sale while you still can starting at just $329.
