SAVE UP TO $102: Typically $999, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2020) with 128GB of storage is on sale at Walmart as of May 12 — get it in space gray for $897, or snag it in silver for $899.99 (a 10% savings either way).

We’ve got some good news and some bad news for anyone who’s in the market for a new iPad.

Let’s get the bad out of the way first, which is that the rumor mill once again called it: The all-new 12.9-inch iPad Pro announced at Apple’s Spring Unloaded event last month is already seeing delays, presumably because of Mini-LED supply issues. Almost all configurations of the upcoming tablet now have estimated shipping dates in early to mid-July, per Bloomberg News — a far cry from Apple’s initial “second half of May” promise (which is still up on the Apple Store homepage, for some reason). Womp womp.

Survey says *that* was a lie.

On the bright side, last year’s extremely capable 12.9-inch iPad Pro is both in stock and on sale at Walmart as of May 12 — normally $999, the 128GB model with just WiFi (no cellular connectivity) is down to $897 in space gray and $899.99 in silver. That’s a 10% savings either way.

Note that Amazon also had the silver one up for grabs for $899.99 at the time of writing, but it’s on backorder until May 22. Meanwhile, Walmart can get it to you in either color before the end of the week with free two-day delivery.

The 2020 iPad Pro may not be packing Apple silicon like its successor, but a zippy A12Z Bionic chipset and 8-core GPU offer more than enough power for multitasking and creative tasks like 4K video or photo editing. Factor in an all-day battery life, dual camera sensors, a quad-speaker setup, a LiDAR scanner (for augmented reality apps), and a pretty Liquid Retina display with True Tone technology, and you get a tablet that almost perfectly balances productivity and entertainment.

If you’re planning on using your iPad Pro as a laptop replacement, Mashable tech reporter Brenda Stolyar recommends shelling out for some extra accessories (e.g., a Magic Keyboard) — an extra cost that feels a little more reasonable given Walmart’s current offer.
