A British woman’s first time trying ranch dressing is going viral.

Dawn Farmer, who describes herself as a “Typical Brit” in her TikTok bio, posts videos of herself reacting to foreign snacks. In past videos, she’s compared American Pop-Tarts with their British counterparts, Fruity Pebbles (which she despised), and Warheads. Few inspired a spiritual awakening like trying ranch dressing for the first time did.

“To be honest, I’d never even heard of ranch dressing until a few months ago from my TikTok,” the Leeds-based creator told her followers. “Someone kindly sent me this original ranch, I’m not sure if this is the go-to ranch flavor, but I’m gonna try it.”

Then she showed the camera a bottle of a perfectly mid-tier American staple: Hidden Valley ranch dressing.

Hesitant about the “mayo” smell, Farmer dipped a cucumber stick in a cup of ranch. Upon tasting it, Farmer appeared to taste enlightenment itself.

“Oh, it’s good, isn’t it!” Farmer gushed, dipping the cucumber stick in for more. “Oh hell yeah that’s nice. Oh yeah! I can see why you like it.”

When asked if it lived up to the hype Americans give it, Farmer was just as enthusiastic as she was in her video.

“ABSOLUTELY,” Farmer told Mashable in an Instagram DM. “I’ve eaten it on everything since I’ve tried it.”

She added that she’s posting a follow-up TikTok on Wednesday evening, and has since tried it on carrots, celery, chicken strips, fries, and pizza.

“Literally goes on everything,” Farmer said.

Farmer added that she was surprised Americans were so clueless about how many American products are unavailable in the UK, and vice versa.

“I was surprised that they were surprised! I didn’t have a clue how big ranch was over there,” she said. “We have Caesar salad dressing which has a similar sort of flavour. But it’s still not the same and not nearly as nice!”

Since the video went viral on both TikTok and Twitter, Americans vowed to send her their favorite brands of ranch.
