Let’s face it: Dads are hard to shop for. Plenty of gift guides will tell you to get him a new tie or a set of whiskey stones (does anyone actually use those?), but we say this is the year to get him a practical gift for Father’s Day. (Father’s Day 2021 is June 20, BTW.)
One of our favorite practical gifts is a robot vacuum, and iRobot is having a Father’s Day sale on robot vacuums and robot mops. The sale is happening on iRobot’s official site, but we’re also seeing the sale prices reflected at Amazon. (Word to the wise though: it appears as if Amazon has inflated some of the list prices to make it look like you’re getting a better deal than you actually are. This is a whole thing.) Take a look at which models are included in the sale and find the best one for the father figures in your life — or snag one for yourself.
OUR TOP PICK: iRobot Roomba i7+ — $649 (save $150)
The Roomba i7+ has tons of features while maintaining a relatively affordable price tag. It includes a self-emptying base, so you don’t have to worry about cleaning out the dust bin for up to a month. The robot vacuum has smart navigation, which allows it to learn the layout of your home to efficiently clean each room row by row. It also learns super specific areas and responds to voice commands via Alexa or Google Assistant — just say something like “Roomba, clean under the kitchen table” and the vacuum is off. The brush underneath is made of rubber, so hair won’t get tangled up, making this a great robot vacuum for homes with pets or people with long hair. The iRobot Roomba i7+ retails for $799.99, but it’s on sale for $649.
BEST FEATURES: iRobot Roomba s9+ — $949 (save $150)
The Roomba s9+ goes a step above the i7+. It also has a self-emptying base and smart navigation, but it has a squared off side that allows it to clean efficiently in corners and along edges. Plus, it has even more suction power for cleaning deep messes on carpets and hardwood floors. The s9+ is usually $1,099.99, but during the sale it’s $949.
BEST ROBOT MOP DEAL: iRobot Braava Jet M6 — $349 (save $100)
Vacuums work well on hard flooring, but they just can’t get the same deep scrub that mops provide. A robot mop takes the grunt work out of getting sparkling clean floors, and the iRobot Braava Jet M6 is a really solid choice. It has smart navigation to learn the layout of your home and it won’t go on the carpet. It’s also able to target specific areas if there’s a spill or mess. The Braava Jet M6 usually sells for $449.99, but it’s on sale for $349.

The Roomba i7 is basically the same thing as the i7+, but it doesn’t include the self-emptying base. It’s still a super feature-heavy robot vacuum, but you can save some cash if you don’t mind regularly emptying the dust bin yourself. It usually costs $599.99 and is currently on sale for $449.
Amazon actually has a better deal on the i3+ than iRobot’s site, saving you an additional $10. The i3+ is not as advanced as the i7 series or s9+, but it does come with a self-emptying base and has smart navigation. It’s honestly a really great budget-friendly option that doesn’t skimp on features. It doesn’t have custom cleaning options, but those are more of a luxury than a necessity anyway. Normally the Roomba i3+ is $599.99, but at Amazon it’s dropped down to $439.99.
