Now you can watch our pandemic-stricken society crumble from the comfort of your car while you struggle to survive in the midst of a fictional nuclear apocalypse.

Tesla’s new “2020.20” firmware update adds Fallout Shelter to the Tesla Arcade, and it comes after a long wait. The planned Tesla-friendly version of Bethesda Softworks’ free-to-play mobile gaming hit was first revealed in June 2019.

Tesla owners who have received the update can find Fallout Shelter in the “Arcade” section of their car’s application launcher. Like other Tesla Arcade games, this one will only work when the car is in park. Although the cars allow users to plug in USB controllers, that feature isn’t supported (yet) in this version of Fallout Shelter, as Tesla confirmed to Electrek.

Update 2020.20 isn’t just about the games. There’s also an improvement for Tesla Theater Mode. So long as the car is in park, the play, pause, and skip playback buttons on the steering wheel can now control what you’re watching.

Lastly, the new update improves the company’s “TRAX” app, which gives drivers the all-important ability to edit music tracks inside their car. The addition of a “piano roll” makes it easier to move notes around on a music track.

Who even needs to live in a house anymore? The implicit case for buying a Tesla at this point seems to be that it’s cheaper than owning a home. All it’s missing is a built-in kitchen. (Some might argue for a bathroom, but I’d counter with the suggestion that you drive off to somewhere remote and just answer nature’s call out in nature.)

The update only just started rolling out to early access owners, so don’t be alarmed if you haven’t gotten it yet. You’ll be playing Fallout Shelter in your car – and not on your mobile phone, tablet, or Switch – soon enough.
