An isolated, wintertime quarantine is no joke. Luckily, there are no shortage of ways to spend the cold winter months inside, whether you’re sipping hot cocoa, cuddling in front of a fire, or burning your eyeballs out by playing hours of video games a day (guilty). If you’re restlessly scrolling, looking for entertainment, we have some options here with this weekend’s deals. We also found affordable prices on one of our favorite small Bluetooth speakers, a soundbar, and the best video calling device on the market.

Special offer for Gear readers: Get a 1-year subscription to WIRED for $5 ($25 off). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com and our print magazine (if you’d like). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.

It’s hardly an exaggeration to say that Facebook’s Portal devices have saved my (Adrienne) family in quarantine. We have a standard Portal my daughter and I use for Zooms with friends (her) and coworkers (me). We also have a Portal TV that made the chaotic holiday video calls so much easier and more enjoyable.

If you detest the idea of giving Facebook more than the smallest fraction of your salary, however, this is one of the best deals I’ve seen on the Portal Mini. It has all the functionality of the standard Portal but costs much less. If you and your significant other are currently more long-distance than normal, this would also make a great Valentine’s Day gift.
