2021 may be proving itself to be the year of the air fryer, but let’s be real: The ever-useful Instant Pot will never go out of style, especially if retailers keep lobbing out discounts like the one we just spotted at Walmart.
As of Jan. 6, the six-quart Instant Pot Viva is down just $49 at the big box store — that’s just over half off its suggested retail price of $99.99 and an exact match of its Black Friday discount. (We very rarely see Instant Pots dip below $50, so whatever you do, don’t sleep on this one.)

A QVC exclusive back in the day, the Viva is a relatively newer Instant Pot model with 15 preset smart programs and nine different functions, including pressure cooking, slow cooking, rice cooking, yogurt making, cake making, egg cooking, sautéing, sterilizing, and sous vide (or cooking bag-sealed food low and slow in a water bath). It’s also one of the few Instant Pots to sport the brand’s automatic EasySeal lid and quick steam release button, two super convenient features you won’t find on older models.
For comparison’s sake, the Viva’s versatility makes it a close rival of the bestselling Instant Duo Plus, another 9-in-1 model whose six-quart variant retails for $129.99 on Amazon. The main difference between the two is that the Viva lacks the Duo Plus’ snazzy blue LCD screen and digital food status icons, but if that’s not a dealbreaker for you, there’s a pretty strong case to be made for the former based on its current sale pricing alone.
