Look. Mashable Entertainment loves Veep, and in particular we love the character of Richard Splett, played by Detroiters star and co-creator Sam Richardson. So when a horror-comedy about small-town life getting turned upside down by an unknown creature comes along starring Sam, we’re going to stan.

This first trailer for Werewolves Within introduces us to the town of Beaverfield, where Richardson plays a “newly arrived forest ranger” (says the synopsis) who teams up with a local postal worker (Milana Vayntrub) to investigate the mystery at the heart of the story and generally just keep everyone chill. Guns get involved at some point.

The trailer definitely sets a vibe. With a director in Josh Ruben who cites Hot Fuzz, the Coen Brothers, and Arachnophobia as influences, expect a ride that mixes creepy and comedy in equal measures, with a fair helping of twee on the side.

Werewolves Within arrives in theaters on June 25 with a VOD release to follow on July 2.
