JLab Go Air Pop – now $17.39 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“A family member of mine recently had to stay in hospital for a while, and I know that being able to drown out the sounds around you can huge help people with recovery, so I wanted to get them a pair of earbuds to have while they were there. When I saw the hospital store had these in stock, I grabbed them right away, because I basically had this part of our JLab Go Air Pop review hanging in my head: ‘These earbuds belie their lowly price-point. They are not junk. They sound far better than is reasonable. And wouldn’t life be better if more of us could afford portable wireless music, rather than no music at all?’

“They allowed my family member to escape into music and streamed radio, and were a great, affordable price – even at the full price I inevitably had to pay by buying them at a hospital store. And now they’re still used in every life, because they’re easily good enough despite the low price. As we said in our review: ‘JLab’s solution beats anything in its price range for sound, hands down. It can even stand toe to toe with the more expensive Sony WF-C500 – which it actually beats for battery life and design, if not audio quality.’

“This isn’t the cheapest they’ve been (they were $12 earlier this year, and actually hit just $9 over Black Friday), but if you want something cheap and high-quality right now, I think $17 is still a great price”

De’Longhi Eletta Explore: was $1,799.95 now $1,599.99 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“This is easily one of the best bean-to-cup coffee makers I’ve tested, pouring deliciously smooth and sweet espresso and cold brew coffee in record time with minimal maintenance. It is, however, frightfully expensive in the US compared to its UK price, but if your heart is set on it, this is a great deal for $200 off.”

“I was impressed by De’Longhi’s Bean Adapt and Latte Crema technology, which work in tandem to ensure drinks produced by the Eletta Explore are as close as possible to barista-made beverage”

“The De’Longhi Eletta Explore manages to pack in a lot of features and functionalities without eating up too much counter space — provided you’ve got fairly deep counters. It comes with a whole host of accessories; you name it, and it’s probably in the Eletta Explore box (provided it’s somewhat relevant to coffee-making, that is).” – Josephine Watson, Managing Editor, Lifestyle

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 40mm down to $159 at Amazon

TechRadar verdict: 4/5

“The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 will soon shortly be eclipsed by the Galaxy Watch 7, but at this price, the older model is better value. The two are so similar that the 6, in either 40 or 44mm, is a better buy with up to $140 off. The 40mm Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is down to just $159.99 from $299.99, while the 44mm has dropped from $329.99 to $199.99. Both of these prices are record lows.

If you’re looking for a companion for your Samsung smartphone, or something to pair with the sold-out Samsung Galaxy Ring, either choice would be ideal. In my Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 review, I said it was excellent, albeit an iterative update on the Watch 5: it’s got great workout credentials, a lovely-looking flat screen, and pairs seamlessly with Samsung Health. If you do use it with the Galaxy Ring, it’ll extend the Ring’s battery life by up to 30%. It’s on our best smartwatch list for a reason!

Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL BBQ Grill and Smoker is down to $339

TechRadar rating: 5/5

“Whether you want to smoke, grill, air fry, roast or bake, the Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL has you covered. A significant upgrade on the original model, this immense outdoor appliance comes packed with a smart thermostat that can connect to the Ninja app for pinpoint accurate cooking times, and a larger capacity for group meals – all while offering the same delicious smoky flavors thanks to the flavored wood pellets.

“We loved the standard Ninja Woodfire (also discounted from $399.99 to $279.99 at Amazon for Prime Day), scoring it a perfect five stars in our review. Adding smart features such as the app-connected thermostat and a higher capacity for catering to larger groups, the Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL stands to make a grill master out of me yet.”

Samsung QN800D deal image

Samsung 65-inch QN800D 8K TV down to $2999 at Amazon

TechRadar rating 4.5/5

“When I reviewed this TV, I was utterly blown away by how effective its 8K upscaling was, giving images a realistic and lifelike quality I hadn’t seen before. Textures had a 3D appearance, details were refined and colors were vivid but also natural and accurate. Even its black levels and contrast were deep and rich – something mini-LED TVs can struggle with.

“The QN800D also brought another level to gaming, bringing the picture quality it delivered for movies to games as well. It’s stacked with features across its four HDMI 2.1 ports, including VRR with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, 120Hz refresh rate, and ALLM. It performed brilliantly, with smooth, seamless gameplay even during the most intense sequences.

“8K TVs have been somewhat controversial over the past few years due to their high price tags and lacking native content. I was skeptical of them until I tested the Samsung QN800D, and it made me a believer… but it’s still expensive. This price drop makes it more palatable.”

The Meta Quest 3 next to a sign saying "Don't Miss"

Meta’s Quest 3 (128GB) is just $429.99

TechRadar rating 5/5

“I reviewed the Meta Quest 3 when it launched last October, and I still use it every week – with its superb virtual and mixed reality software library, and great specs for the price (including full-color mixed reality) it’s no surprise I think this is the best VR headset for most people.

“With Quest 3-exclusive games starting to rear their heads (like Batman: Arkham Shadow) it’s time to upgrade your aging Meta Quest 2, and to help with that the new model is 14% off right now at Amazon.

“Best of all this Meta Quest 3 ‘Prime Day deal’ isn’t exclusive to Prime subscribers. So whether you have a membership or not you can take advantage of this $70 saving.”

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra – now just $974.99 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“With its 6.8-inch OLED display, lightning-fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and class-leading suite of cameras, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is a formidable pocket companion. It’s one of the best phones money can buy in 2024, and indisputably the best Samsung phone, well, ever. Heck, in his Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review, TechRadar’s US Mobiles Editor, Philip Berne, described this device as ‘the phone Samsung has been working towards.’ It’s a doozy.

“Of course, all that premium-ness comes at a price, but for Prime Day, Amazon has discounted various storage variants of the phone to their lowest-ever prices.

“It’s technically been possible to grab an unlocked version of the Galaxy S24 Ultra for even less than $974.99 before Prime Day, but those instances have required hefty trade-in values. In contrast, Amazon’s new deal price is a no-strings-attached offer on an unlocked device. So, if you’ve ever been tempted to splash the cash on this beast of a handset, now is the time to do so.”

Sony Alpha 7 III

A superb full-frame camera for a big saving

TechRadar rating: 5/5

“It’s six years old now, but the Sony A7 III is only one generation back from the A7 IV: a camera that we still rate as the best full-frame mirrorless camera for most people in 2024. We gave the A7 III our Editor’s Choice and top five star rating in 2018, and it remains a decent all-rounder today, now at its record-equalling low price today: for the body only it’s now $1,298 at Amazon (was $1,799), while you can opt for the bundle with the basic 28-70mm lens for $1,498 at Amazon (was $1,999)

The A7 IV is also on a great deal at the moment, at record low at just £1,869 at Amazon. However, there’s now enough of price different to seriously consider the older A7 III instead: it still offers excellent 24MP stills with 15-stops dynamic range, uncropped 4K video, superb autofocus, in-body image stabilization and 10fps burst shooting, all in a compact body and with a wide choice of excellent lenses. It may well be getting on a bit, but the A7 III is an excellent value today.”

The Acer Predator Triton 14 gaming laptop on a red background with a TechRadar 'Price Cut

Acer Predator Triton 14 – now just $1,149.99 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“I like Acer’s Predator laptop line: they’re not insanely premium devices akin to the likes of Razer Blade or Alienware gaming laptops, but they consistently offer solid performance with reasonable pricing.

“The Triton 14 is a slightly more upmarket model, with a normal retail price of $1,999.99 – a tiny bit more than I’d like to pay, personally. But with an enormous $850 discount, it’s suddenly the best-value gaming laptop deal this Prime Day – so don’t wait around!

“The reason that I’m so eager to recommend this deal is twofold: first, it’s the single cheapest gaming laptop with an RTX 4070 GPU selling anywhere in the US right now, and that 4070 is the perfect graphics card – not overpriced, but still delivering more than enough power to play all the latest games at this laptop’s QHD+ resolution. Second, it’s just a genuinely nice piece of hardware, with a slick silver finish, RGB keyboard, and fingerprint scanner built into the trackpad.

“The Predator Triton 14 is no slouch in the rest of the specs department either, boasting a powerful 14-core Intel i7-13700H CPU and a terabyte of high-speed SSD storage along with 16GB of DDR5 RAM. Trust me, if you’ve been deliberating a gaming laptop purchase this Prime Day, this is now truly the one to pick.”

The Astro A50 gaming headset on a blue background with white price cut text

Astro A50 (PlayStation) – now $194.99 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4/5

“What’s that sporting saying? ‘Form is temporary but class is permanent’. Well, that’s sort of the case with the brilliant Astro A50 gaming headset. Many headsets from many brands have come and gone since the A50 came out a few years ago, but its premium design and build, wonderful base station, and stupendous audio have ensured it is still a top premium wireless option for all platforms in 2024. And now you can have it for a brand-new lowest-ever Amazon price that knocks a huge amount of money off the set.

“The star of the show with the Astro A50 is its sublime sound quality, offering details, clarity, and crispness up and down the audio spectrum. The bass is never muddy, the high tones ever piercing, and the whole sound profile is so rounded and well implemented, no matter the game. It’s base station is excellent too offering a sturdy place to store and charge the headset, while the build of the A50 is robust enough to have confidence in but very comfortable to keep on for long sessions at the same time.

“I’ve had an Astro A50 in my home for a good few years now, testing and using it across a host of platforms, but have ensured it has stayed in my setup by attaching it to my PS3. It’s just so good I had to have it to hand. However, it’s an absolute belter on the latest consoles (though it needs an HDMI adapter on PS5 and XBox Series consoles) and at this price offers a tremendous opportunity to grab one of the very best wireless gaming headsets – a timeless one, in a way – for a record low price.”

Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids tablet on a green background

Get an Amazon Fire Kids tablet for $69.99

“I’d never recommend an Amazon Fire tablet to an adult, because they’re generally too underpowered and the software is too restrictive compared to an iPad or pure Android tablet. But for kids, it’s a different matter.

“My daughters are too old for them now, but before they were teenagers they went through a few of these, and as a parent I’d have no hesitation in recommending them. They’re rugged, have child-friendly bumper cases and come with a two-year no-questions warranty that I’ve taken advantage of myself when one was dropped off a bunk bed. But better still is the software, which you get one year of for free. This is packed with child-friendly games and apps and is secure enough that you don’t need to worry about what they’re doing online.

“The 8in model is the sweet spot for size versus price and right now Amazon has dropped the price to a low of $69.99. Well worth checking out.”

The Mobvoi Home Walking Treadmill

Mobvoi home walking treadmill down to $119.99

TechRadar verdict: 4.5 / 5

“I’m still in the process of testing the Mobvoi home walking treadmill, but I’ve already seen enough to recommend it. This better-than-half-price bargain is an awesome deal on an excellent compact tread, perfect for getting more steps in each day. With a maximum user weight of 265 pounds, it’s sturdy despite its slender size, and I was impressed with the build quality for the price during my tests. It doesn’t feel cheap – on the contrary. With its black glass display, it shares a design ethos with some premium smart scales I’ve tried, and its 13cm depth means it’s easy to slide under a bed or into a cupboard when not in use.

“The downside is that its quite narrow, so requires a little bit of getting used to at first – I found my foot catching the side on occasion until I’d spent a bit of time on the treadmill. There’s also very little in the way of features.

“Still, at well under 200 dollars, I’d definitely recommend it for people looking for a simple, plug-in-and-go device to get your steps in on the cheap. It’s slim, the remote control is easy and intuitive to use, and it’s perfect for wheeling out, pressing play and just walking, whether that’s for use with a standing desk, or to get your steps in while watching TV.”

WD Black C50 Expansion Card – now $117.79 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4/5

“You’ve only got two options when it comes to storage expansion cards for current-generation Xbox consoles. If it’s not Seagate’s, then it’s the WD Black C50. So why would I recommend the latter over the former when both offer effectively similar results?

“Well price is the main thing. Outside of sales periods, the WD Black C50 has a more affordable sticker price than its Seagate rival. The C50 is also slightly more compact, meaning it’ll jut out of your console ever so slightly less. It also helps that right now, the deal on offer here is marginally cheaper than the Seagate card. But really, you can’t go wrong with either option.

“If you’re interested, you should also consider giving my WD Black C50 review a read: ‘The WD Black C50 is a powerhouse storage expansion card for Xbox Series X|S. Boasting impressive transfer speeds and solid game boot times, you’ll find it to be similarly quick to the console’s internal storage.'”

Logitech C920 HD webcam – now just $49.99 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“I’ve been using this webcam for more than seven years – through COVID lockdowns, cancer treatments, and protests outside my window. Hell, I wrote up a deal article about it for last year’s Prime Day, and it remains the only webcam I recommend for anyone who needs one.

“Seriously, this thing has reigned supreme at the top of our best webcams list for years, and for good reason – it’s competitively priced, works seamlessly, and offers wide-screen 1080p recording with excellent low-light correction along with a decent set of stereo microphones featuring active background noise cancellation.

“Professional streamers and YouTubers will probably want something more powerful (and more expensive), but for the average user, the C920 is perfect. Heck, Logitech hasn’t changed the design since it launched 12 whole years ago, because if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

“With a full half-price discount for Prime Day – the cheapest it’s ever been, according to our price-tracking software – there’s truly no reason to buy any other webcam.”

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones – now just $349 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“I reviewed these when they launched, and knew within seconds of putting them on that I was going to buy myself a pair, despite their seriously premium price. It just didn’t matter, I had to have a pair.

“It was the combination of world’s-best active noise cancellation, and incredibly exciting, energetic and insightful music performance that got me, which – though I also want to highlight how lightweight and comfortable they are – means you can make the most of their sound.

“I also love that they have a folding design for traveling, which is becoming less common on wireless headphones, but I’m a very frequent traveler, so anything that makes packing more flexible gets approval from me. The only thing that lost them the final half star in my Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones review was that their battery life is shorter than the competition. But I live with this just fine in practice.

“These headphones hit $339 once in the past, so this isn’t quite a record low, but they’re so very worth this price, even though it’s high. You can hear a clear step up over other headphones that cost $100 less.”

Google Pixel 8 Pro

Google Pixel 8 Pro (512GB) now $879 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4/5

“I’ve long been a fan of Google Pixel phones, thanks to their excellent photography chops, great software, a good load of features, and a pleasing design. And the Google Pixel 8 Pro takes the design language and feature set established with the Pixel 6 and runs with it.

“The eighth-generation Pixel Pro phone not only offers some of the best phone photography around, it’s smarter than the average smartphone, too. That’s all thanks to its baked-in AI features, notably the Magic Editor that uses AI to completely rework a photo. Since its release last October, the Pixel 8 Pro has only got smarter with additional tools like Circle to Search.

“But don’t take my word for it, as in his Google Pixel 8 Pro review, Senior US Phones Editor Philip Berne concluded: ‘The Google Pixel 8 Pro is Google’s best Pixel ever, and it shows us Google’s vision for the future of mobile tech. Its fantastic display is bigger and brighter than the competition, and the photo features, bolstered by Google’s machine learning, are unmatched.’

“So now that Amazon has cut the price from $1,179 to $879, I reckon the Pixel 8 Pro is a great phone to buy today, especially with that healthy 512GB of storage. In fact, I’d probably choose it over the mighty Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.”

Amazon Prime Day lowest price on iPad Air 2022

Apple iPad Air (2022) – now just $399.99 at Best Buy

TechRadar rating: 4/5

“Almost every iPad model is on sale during the Amazon Prime Day rush, but which model should you buy? If you can’t decide, go with this Goldilocks Apple iPad Air (2022), which gets everything just right. It’s available at Best Buy, rather than Amazon, but assuming that isn’t a problem this is the one to get.

“Our iPad Air review said it cost too much in 2022, and lost out to the iPad Pro on performance without being much cheaper. But at today’s low price, the lowest price I’ve seen on this iPad Air, it’s the best iPad you can buy for the money.

“The reason is the iPad Air (2022) has a speedy Apple M1 chipset inside, which means it should get upgraded to the latest Apple iPadOS with Apple Intelligence features. I’m very interested in Apple Intelligence, but I didn’t want to spend more than $500 to find a capable tablet. Apple is only endowing tablets with an Apple M1 chipset or better with Intelligence, some time in the next year.

“I’m a big fan of the iPad Air at this price, since you get a thinner iPad, like an iPad Pro model, for the price of a normal, basic iPad. This iPad also uses the more advanced Apple Pencil 2, which makes it more future-proof than cheaper iPad choices.”

Samsung 990 Pro – now just $291.57 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 5/5

“I go through a lot of SSDs in my component testing, and the Samsung 990 Pro is the one I reach for during every major component launch cycle thanks to its incredible speeds and capacity, letting me load and maintain a massive database of test results, benchmarking scripts, and apps necessary to get the job done.

“While you don’t have to go as hardcore as I often need to do, there’s no getting around the fact that this is one of the most high-performing SSDs you’re going to find on the market right now, whether for professional use, gaming, or content creation.

“When I reviewed this SSD 18 months ago, I wrote that ‘The Samsung 990 Pro all but maxes out what a PCIe 4.0 SSD is capable of’, and that remains the case today. If you’ve got a PCIe 4.0 system, there’s simply no better SSD out there.

“While the SSD by itself isn’t at the lowest price we’ve seen, if you opt for the heatsink-equipped model for just a few dollars more, you’ll be getting the best value on this capacity that I’ve ever seen, so you’ll definitely want to act fast on this one.”

OnePlus Open – now just $1,299.99 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“If you’re in the market for a tablet-style foldable in 2024, look no further than the excellent OnePlus Open, which tops our list of the best foldable phones and is currently available for a record-low $1,299.99 at Amazon.

“In his OnePlus Open review, TechRadar’s US Mobiles Editor, Philip Berne, described the OnePlus Open as ‘the only foldable phone that doesn’t compromise,’ and having handled almost all of its closest rivals myself – including the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Google Pixel Fold – I’m inclined to agree with Phil’s judgement.

“Where other foldable phones feel markedly distinct from traditional candy bar handsets, the OnePlus Open looks and feels more ‘normal’ than its foldable design suggests. Indeed, Phil praised the phone for being the ‘thinnest and lightest foldable you can buy (in most markets)’, and that great-looking design is paired with some stellar camera hardware and a highly capable chipset, too.

“We’re still in the process of testing the newly announced Galaxy Z Fold 6, but we’re confident that you won’t find a better value-for-money foldable than the OnePlus Open in 2024, even after the launch of Samsung’s newest device.”

Seagate Xbox Storage Expansion Card deal

Seagate Xbox Storage Expansion Card – now $123.49 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“As a frequent Xbox Game Pass user, I’ve often ran into the frustration of having to delete games on my console in order to make space for fresh additions to the catalog. And given that so many games this generation push that 100GB threshold, that base 825GB (or roughly 364GB on Series S) of usable storage simply doesn’t cut it.

“That’s why I love recommending steep discounts on internal storage cards like we’re seeing with the Seagate Xbox Storage Expansion Card this Amazon Prime Day. Adding a flat 1TB of usable storage for your console means you’ll be able to expand your digital game library while worrying less about deleting titles to make more room.

“Our original reviewer, Gerald Lynch, agrees. In his thorough review, he says: ‘It isn’t cheap, but the Seagate Xbox Storage Expansion Card is a must-buy item for Xbox Series X and S owners looking to make the most of their Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.'”

A brilliant Ninja Air Fryer for less than $90

TechRadar rating: 4/5 (based on the smaller, AF101 model)

“A fantastic entry point for air frying newbies or those with smaller kitchens, the Ninja AF150 is easy to use, easy to clean, and offers fantastic results across all of its four presets and its reheating mode. It’s one I’ve recommended to friends and family, and at this price it’s a no-brainer.

“It’s nice and compact while still offering a respectable 5.5qt capacity, a balance many air fryers struggle to strike.”

“Ninja makes some of the best air fryers on the market, and the AF150AMZ is no different, which is why we’re always excited to see these air fryers crop up in seasonal sales. MacBook Air M1 – now just $649 at Walmart

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“I’ve owned the MacBook Air M1 since it launched and would recommend it to anyone without question. At this price it’s simply too good to be missed.

“It’s getting a little old now, but it’s still a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a fast and light laptop with great battery life. Seriously, this thing can go for days. Plus, the fanless design means it never does that plane-taking-off thing that older MacBooks do.

“When Matt Hanson, our Managing Editor, Core Tech, reviewed it he stated that ‘in my time with the MacBook Air M1 I was incredibly impressed with how it performed’, and I’d agree with every word.

“It’s only been as low as $749 previously, so it for to now been $100 less than that at Walmart makes this a truly fantastic deal. This could be the last chance to pick one up now that it’s officially discontinued, so act fast!”

Hisense AX5125H deal image for budget soundbars roundup

Hisense AX5125H 5.1.2ch Dolby Atmos soundbar – now $289 at Amazon

TechRadar rating 4.5/5

“When I first saw the price of the Hisense AX5125H before I tested it, I was cautious. It’s rare to get a soundbar with four separate units at such an affordable price (full price $499), so needless to say I wondered what the catch was. Amazingly, there was no catch. In fact, the AX5125H is seriously impressive.

“As soon as I watched Star Wars: A New Hope with the AX5125H providing the audio, any preconceptions I had disappeared. The immersive spatial sound enveloped me and made me feel like I was sitting in the cockpit of an X-Wing during the movie’s climatic battle. Explosions blasted and rumbled from the subwoofer, the thunderous score boomed through the rear speakers and all the while, speech and Dolby Atmos presentation was crystal clear.

“Music streaming may be limited to Bluetooth, but the AX5125H still does a great job when fed any genre. In my Hisense AX5125H review, I called it one of the best budget Dolby Atmos soundbars out there – and that is 100% true. For its price, it’s a really good soundbar.

“Even at $499, this is a great soundbar, but at a record-low price of $289, I really can’t think of a better Dolby Atmos soundbar deal than this one.”

Big savings on Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controller models.

Big savings on official Xbox controllers

“There are some big savings on a wide range of Xbox Wireless Controller variants right now and these are three of my personal favorites.

“You can’t go wrong with the classic Carbon Black edition, which likely matches the controllers that came with your Xbox console. With its price reduced by $20, now is the perfect chance to pick up any spares or replacements that you might need.

“If you would prefer something a little more exciting, absolutely go for the Nocturnal Vapor Special Edition. Thanks to its manufacturing process, each controller boasts its own unique design with a cool smoky green and black swirl. It looks really good in person and, with $16.49 off, should be on your radar.

“There’s also the Velocity Green version of the controller, which is currently on sale for below $50 (and which is even cheaper when you apply a coupon). I love its apple-green hue, which is perfectly complimented by black accents and a white rear panel. It’s a great option if you’re after a controller that will help you stand out from the crowd.”

Grab the Nikon D780 DSLR for its lowest-ever price

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“Nikon is now focusing attention on its mirrorless cameras, but there’s still very much a case for Nikon DSLRs in 2024, especially when there are deals this good: Amazon has slashed $700 off the 24.5MP Nikon D780, bringing it to its lowest-ever price.

“The D780 is Nikon’s most modern DLSR and a fantastic full-frame all-rounder, combining great image quality, a weather-proof build, superb battery life and modern autofocus skills. You’ll miss out on in-body image stabilization by opting for a DSLR over a mirrorless model like the Z6 II (also on sale for just $1,596.95 at Adorama, was $1,996.95), but having used these cameras extensively I can tell you there’s a case for both DSLR and mirrorless.

“You can also get the D780 with the 24-120mm f/4 lens for $2,096.95 at Amazon, again that $700 off. If you’re going to be buying more lenses after purchase, you’ll find DSLR lenses are cheaper than mirrorless ones, so this D780 deal could be the best pick for serious photographers – Timothy Coleman, Cameras Editor

An Amazon Eero wireless router against a techradar background

Amazon Eero 6 WiFi router – now just $69.99 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4/5

“Wi-Fi 7 routers might be all the rage right now, but the honest truth is that these routers are a little too ahead of their time, seeing as there aren’t many Wi-Fi 7 capable devices on the market yet.

“That makes Wi-Fi 6 routers a much better purchase this Prime Day, since you’re going to get a lot more use out of them over the next 18-24 months and they’re still capable of maxing out the download speeds for just about all of your devices right now.

“Even better, thanks to the launch of new Wi-Fi 7 routers, Wi-Fi 6 routers like the Eero 6 from Amazon are getting discounted for Prime Day. As our router guru Cliff Joseph said in his Eero 6 review, ‘the Eero 6 still stands out as being one of the most affordable mesh systems to offer Wi-Fi 6,’ and that was before the 22% Prime Day discount on a single router (optional router extenders are also on sale).

“Right now, the $69.99 price on the Eero 6 is the lowest price we’ve ever seen on this device, so you’re definitely going to want to pick one up if you’re in the market for a cheap upgrade.”

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus – now just $749.99 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 4.5/5

“Samsung’s Galaxy Plus phones rarely prove better value for money than their standard or Ultra counterparts, but having reviewed the latest Plus model myself, I can safely say that the Galaxy S24 Plus bucks that trend and then some.

“This phone’s display is objectively better than the one you’ll find on the Galaxy S24, and it doesn’t lose out on the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s suite of Galaxy AI features, either. It benefits from the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset as its premium sibling, too, as well as comparable battery life – all, of course, for a significantly lower price.

“In my review, I described the Galaxy S24 Plus as ‘one of the best AI phones,’ and at $749.99 at Amazon right now, it’s never offered better value for money.”

Huge savings on SteelSeries microphones.

Lowest-ever prices on SteelSeries microphones

“Here are two absolutely stellar deals on some top-quality microphones from respected gaming peripheral manufacturer SteelSeries.

“First up is the SteelSeries Alias, which is a great choice if you’re looking for a premium microphone for general gaming. It sounds absolutely excellent out of the box and offers a wealth of high-end features. This includes a useful LED display that tells you your current audio levels and a suite of on-board controls.

“It’s the microphone that I use every day and when I first reviewed it, I was very impressed with its attractive design and the recording quality that it offers. It’s a no-brainer with this $60 discount, which takes it down to a new lowest-ever price.

“Those looking for a microphone for professional content creation should consider the SteelSeries Alias Pro, which is also on sale at a new lowest-ever price. This XLR model comes with a DAC/stream mixer out of the box, giving you a complete setup that’s ideal for game streaming or recording podcasts.”

Oura Ring

Oura Ring down to its lowest-ever price

TechRadar rating: 4/5

“Since we reviewed it in 2021, Oura hasn’t released a new device. Why would it bother with new hardware? It can use the Oura Ring Generation 3‘s existing sensors in conjunction with regular software updates, delivering new features, to create a package that’s absolutely still the best smart ring for most people (well, for anyone except Samsung users, who now have the Samsung Galaxy Ring).

“Right now at Amazon, the Oura Ring (in its Horizon style) is cheaper than ever, with a $67 discount bringing it down to $282, its lowest price ever. That’s a great deal on a great ring, and more than makes up for the $5.99/month subscription fee for the premium features. You’ll be wearing it for almost two years before you even ‘earn out’ the full price of the product. Prices vary with certain colors and materials, but the Horizon silver is the cheapest.

“The Oura Ring is the perfect wellness tracker for people who don’t like wearing a smartwatch: a discreet little health monitor that can accurately track sleep and heart rate, detect workouts, aid in mindfulness practice and even predict when you’ll get ill. Now that smart rings have come of age, don’t skip on this rare deal.”

The Mac mini (M2, 2023) on a blue background with a TechRadar 'Don't Miss' bade.

Apple Mac Mini with M2 – now just $479 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 5/5

“The Mac mini is literally the only Apple product I truly love, and if you know me (my dislike of Apple hardware is well-documented), you know that’s a big deal.

“While it didn’t enjoy a hardware refresh with the release of the M3 chip this year, last year’s M2 Mac mini is still a genuinely top-notch piece of hardware, and quite frankly the single best mini computer on the market right now. No joke; nothing else touches it.

“My boss reviewed this Mac mini (that’s Matt Hanson, Managing Editor, Core Tech) and it’s the only time I’ve ever read a five-star review of an Apple product and thought yup, that’s 100% right. From its stellar content creation performance thanks to Apple’s shockingly effective in-house silicon, to the wonderfully simple and compact design that doesn’t sacrifice physical ports, it ticks every single box.

“Apple already reduced the price of this Mac mini against the previous M1 model, but with a further reduction down to just $479 for Prime Day, I implore you: if you’ve been looking for a new system for your home office, this is the one. Go get it!

TCL QM8 on white background

TCL QM8 65-inch TV – now $998 at Amazon

TechRadar rating 4.5/5

“This is a silly price for this TV. I mean, really where does TCL get off, making everyone else look bad? In my TCL QM851G review, I noted that ‘my measurements of the 75-inch TCL QM851G confirm it as the brightest TV TechRadar has ever tested, and by a sizeable margin.’ It blows the competition out of the water for HDR performance, but now it’s under $1,000? Like, I said, silly.

“And it uses this brightness to its advantage. It’s excellent for sport, but not unnatural. Watching soccer, I said in my review that ‘the skin tones of the players also looked completely natural in Movie mode, giving it a picture-quality advantage over the too-bright Vivid mode. I continued to be impressed when watching other broadcast and streamed TV channels, mainly due to the TV’s clean and crisp 4K upconversion of standard- and high-definition programs. The TCL’s bright, expansive screen even benefited old shows like Kojak, bringing its 1970s period detail to vivid life.’

“It even sounds good from its built-in speakers, which is not a guarantee from today’s TVs. I said in my review ‘Watching Dune: Part Two, the dialogue was crisp, yet natural-sounding and it projected well out into my room. Music and bass effects had a good degree of heft, and there was a distinct sense of ambiance to Dolby Atmos soundtracks.’

“Given that it’s also a next-gen gaming powerhouse, it might be the best TV for value of this year.”

Amazon Prime Day lowest price on Amazon Kindle Scribe

Amazon Kindle Scribe – now $234.99 on Amazon

TechRadar rating: 3.5/5

“Don’t let my low review score fool you, the Kindle Scribe is a much better writing and reading tablet today than when it launched in 2022, and I’m still watching Amazon improve its big Kindle. For Amazon Prime Day, the Kindle Scribe has a great discount knocking the price down by more than $100. That makes it the lowest price I’ve seen on a Kindle Scribe. It’s also the only really great Amazon Prime Day Kindle deal I’ve seen.

“I love the Kindle Scribe for reading, so even if you’ll never use the pen, it makes a great e-reader. The huge display is just as sharp as a smaller Kindle. It isn’t water resistant like the Kindle Paperwhite, so it’s not the best beach tablet, but it’s great for classrooms or reading and taking notes at home.

“Unlike the reMarkable 2 writing tablet, the Kindle Scribe has a built-in backlight so you can read in the dark. I also loved the Kindle Scribe section of the Kindle Book Store, filled with journals and puzzle books that you can write in with the Scribe’s pen. Other e-readers don’t have a similar capability, because they don’t have Amazon’s book store behind them.

“The Kindle Scribe Essentials bundle is also available now for $289.97 from Amazon, and it’s worth a look. I liked Amazon’s leather cover very much; it flips up like a legal pad and holds the pen securely. You also get the Premium Pen, with its eraser tip, for much less if you buy that bundle.”

8BitDo Ultimate deal

8BitDo Ultimate – now $47.99 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 5/5

“Look, if I had to recommend just one of the Nintendo Switch-compatible controllers above… it’s a tight race, but I’m giving it to the phenomenal 8BitDo Ultimate controller. It’s topped our best Nintendo Switch controllers guide for years now; not because there’s a lack of great Nintendo Switch gamepads – far from it. Simply because none have been able to match the 8BitDo Ultimate in terms of sheer quality and value.

“The 8BitDo Ultimate was one of the first Nintendo Switch controllers to put forward Hall effect thumbsticks. These differ from traditional analog sticks by effectively removing the physical friction brought about from inputs. Instead, it relies on electrical signals that completely remove the risk of stick drift brought on by wear and tear. The inclusion of a dedicated charging dock, 20 hours of battery life and all-round superb build quality certainly don’t hurt, either.

“In my original 5-star 8BitDo Ultimate controller review, I said that it ‘proves that third-party pads can match and even exceed the official options.’ This controller is the full package; it feels great to use and packs extra features, such as programmable back buttons and a charging dock.”

Sony WH-1000XM4 noise cancelling wireless headphones on purple background with price cut sign

Sony WH-1000XM4 – now just $198 at Amazon

TechRadar rating: 5/5

“You may ask yourself why a TechRadar editor is recommending headphones from 2020 still. We are mere weeks from the Sony WH-1000XM4 reaching their fourth birthday, and toddling off to kindergarten, and the new Sony WH-1000XM5 have been out for a couple of years themselves.

“As you probably noticed, prices of things have gone a bit wild in the last [checks notes], ah, four years. Most of the new headphones that have come out since then have crept steadily up in price, and haven’t always brought a drastic improvement in sound or noise cancellation quality.

“That was the case with the Sony XM4 and the XM5 when that arrived. The XM4 is still 90% as good as the newer model, but during sales events can be found for that magic sub-$200 price, whereas the XM5 is only just now creeping under $300. And bear in mind, the XM4 were five-star, best-in-class headphones when they started! So now they’re amazing headphones that are just a little bit older.

“So under the current circumstances, I still really rate the older model as delivering the best bang for buck, as I noted in an update to our Sony WH-1000XM4 review.”
