One of the biggest decisions you’ll make when choosing an iPhone is the color you buy it in. After all, you’ll probably be keeping this phone for at least a year – and maybe way longer – and you’ll likely be looking at it many times each day.
So if you’re planning on upgrading to an iPhone 16, an iPhone 16 Plus, an iPhone 16 Pro, or an iPhone 16 Pro Max, you should definitely give the color some thought.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus colors
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are available in the same shades as each other, and in five shades in total, which are as follows:
Black
Black is one shade you can get the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus in. This is an extremely popular and common smartphone shade, and it’s one that the iPhone 15 is also available in, so we’re not surprised to see it here.
Being so common it’s arguably not the most exciting choice, but it’s sure to fit in just about anywhere.
Teal
Teal is a new shade for this year, and an unusual color choice in general. It’s also one of the brighter iPhone 16 options.
The iPhone 15 is available in Green, which is a vaguely similar color, but the mix of blue and green used to create Teal ensures this shade remains a distinct option.
Pink
There’s also a Pink iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, and this is quite a bright shade of pink. In fact, due to how bright it is this is likely to be the most eye-catching of all the iPhone 16 shades. So if you want your phone to stand out and turn heads, this is the choice for you.
That said, pink is a fairly common smartphone shade, so this isn’t one of the more unusual or unique choices for 2024.
Ultramarine
Along with Teal, Ultramarine is the other unusual color that you can get the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus in.
The iPhone 15 was available in Blue, so on paper this might sound similar, but in practice this Ultramarine is far brighter and bolder than the Blue of its predecessor.
So if you want a playful color and one that previous models aren’t available in, this is a strong choice.
White
The final iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus shade is White, which as with Black is a very common, popular choice for a smartphone – if perhaps a bit uninteresting.
However, you can’t get the iPhone 15 in white, so this is a new shade for the year – though some past iPhones have come in white or off white shades, such as the iPhone 14 in Starlight.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max colors
As with the standard models, the Pro models are also available in the same shades as each other, but the selection differs from that of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, as you can see below.
Black Titanium
One shade you can get the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in is Black Titanium, and this is a very familiar shade, as it unsurprisingly looks like the iPhone 15 Pro in Black Titanium.
It’s a smart, understated, and stylish option, albeit one that a huge number of people will probably be carrying around.
White Titanium
There’s also White Titanium, which looks very similar to last year’s White Titanium shade. So this is nothing new, and indeed white and silver shades are very common and popular phone choices, so there are plenty of similar looking iPhones around.
Still, it’s a popular choice for a reason, as it won’t look odd anywhere, and is unlikely to be disliked by many people.
Natural Titanium
Next we have Natural Titanium, which as with the previous two colors was also offered with the iPhone 15 Pro line.
Still, this light gray shade is a bit more unusual than the black and white options at least. Though it is still very understated, as Apple seems to be under the questionable belief that people who like expensive phones don’t like bright colors.
Desert Titanium
Desert Titanium is arguably the most interesting of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max shades, as this is a new shade for 2024.
This option looks almost like a rose gold, but with a slightly more brown edge to it. As such it’s not a completely new or unusual option, as Apple has offered rose gold iPhones in the past. It’s also arguably less interesting than the Blue Titanium model that it replaces from the previous generation’s line-up.
Still, while there are plenty of rose gold phones around, there might not be too many people with a Desert Titanium one, so if you want an iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max model that stands out, this is the best choice.
