That’s Thief VR Legacy of Shadow, coming to PSVR 2.

2025-06-04T21:31:36.194Z

A new game from Vertigo Games, definitely a virtual reality project. I’m getting big Thief vibes from this one!

A new Koei Tecmo game! Some kind of Nioh follow-up? I’m seeing some massive boss-fights, and lots of soulsike combat.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater now, looking absolutely stunning as usual. Lots of boss fights in this little trailer, plus a look at the iconic Snake vs Monkey mode.

Official fight stick revealed!

New hardware reveal – this wasn’t something on my bingo card. An official fightstick, made by Sony themselves. How promising!

Now a new game collection from the preservation geniuses over at Digital Eclipse!

It looks like it will be Mortal Kombat focussed, and could be an absolute treat for Mortal Kombat fans.

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound now, a 2D action game from the Blasphemous devs. Blasphemous and Blasphemous 2 were both superb experiences, so there’s plenty of reason to get excited for this. It will be available on July 31, 2025.

Everybody's Golf

(Image credit: Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots)

Everybody’s Golf is coming back! Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots, coming September 5. If you pre-order, you’ll get to play as Pac-Man!

2025-06-04T21:22:05.120Z

Hirogami

A very adorable looking game up next, Hirogami! I really like what I’ve seen of this one, especially its paper-craft artstyle.

Another September release, this time September 3.

2025-06-04T21:21:22.722Z

An indie game here – Baby Steps. This little puzzle game (if you can really call it that) is an open-world experience that challenges you to walk around (trust me, it’s harder than it sounds).

It lands on September 8.

2025-06-04T21:20:19.017Z

Yep, that’s Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. It includes both the original game, and a remake version!

It will launch on September 30, with pre-orders starting today.

A new Final Fantasy announcement now. Looks like a Final Fantasy Tactics remake! I know some fans will be very, very excited about this.

Just revealed October 3, 2025 release date for Digimon Story: Time Stranger.

Yep, Digimon Story: Time Stranger. This game has already been announced, but a new trailer is always appreciated.

2025-06-04T21:16:52.400Z

Something Bandai Namco up now. Looks like Digimon to me.

2025-06-04T21:16:22.240Z

I called it! A new Bloodstained game called Bloodstained The Scarlet Engagement, coming 2026.

This next game looks almost like Castlevania. Maybe something from the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night devs? Let’s see…

2025-06-04T21:14:29.885Z

Yep, that’s Silent Hill f. It’s out September 25 this year! Amazing.

Silent Hill f

The protagonist is channelling her inner James Sunderland and beating up horrifying enemies with a pipe! That’s the Silent Hill I know and love.

2025-06-04T21:11:48.165Z

On to the next reveal. I’m pretty confident that this is a new Silent Hill f trailer. This is one game that I’m personally really looking forward to, especially given the awesome steelbook available with pre-orders here in the UK.

Hopefully we get a release date soon!

2025-06-04T21:09:57.541Z

Grasshoppper?

Well this next game looks a bit crazy! I’m seeing plenty of third-person combat, with a mix of futuristic funs and melee attacks.

The name? Romeo is a Dead Man, a new game from Grasshopper Manufacture coming in 2026.

2025-06-04T21:07:57.831Z

Yep, that’s Pragmata! And a 2026 release window – nice.

2025-06-04T21:06:53.535Z

Pragmata

Oh! This looks an awful like Pragmata! Capcom logo on screen confirms it, I think.

About time we saw something else about this game! The graphics are very pretty, with some interesting looking combat.

2025-06-04T21:05:05.911Z

On to the next game.

Big text on screen, “what comes after dreaming?”. How intriguing!

2025-06-04T21:04:13.981Z

We have a name! Lumines Arise, coming to PS5 and, surprisingly, PSVR 2 – I guess Sony hasn’t given up on VR quite yet…

2025-06-04T21:03:45.742Z

Enhance game maybe

Okay, this looks an awful lot like some kind of Lumines revival! I’m always in the mood for a good puzzle game, so sign me up!

2025-06-04T21:02:38.668Z

Our first game! It looks… weird. I’m seeing lots of psychedelic visuals and hearing some super groovy background music. Big PS Vita vibes from this one.

2025-06-04T21:01:44.814Z

The stream is beginning! Hold on to something…

2025-06-04T21:00:17.686Z

The State of Play stream is now live! With a countdown ticking down on screen as we speak.

There are just a few minutes to go until it begins proper, so make sure to tune by heading to your platform of choice right now.

To make things extra easy, I’ve also included an embedded version of the stream below – you’re welcome!

Watch On

2025-06-04T20:50:47.408Z

More than 111,000 people have now tuned into the official PlayStation stream, and that number is only increasing by the second!

If you need a reminder, it’s starting in just ten minutes.

2025-06-04T20:48:29.655Z

Remember that biltong I mentioned earlier? Turns out it was a big mistake.

I had a little nibble and now there’s some stuck in my teeth. Hopefully I manage to get that out before the stream begins, because it feels pretty grim.

2025-06-04T20:45:13.440Z

It’s getting closer…

Time flies really when you’re waiting for a stream about video games to go live!

There is now just 15 minutes to go until the State of Play begins, so start getting yourself ready for a non-stop barrage of gaming goodness.

Don’t think you’ll be able to follow the stream live? Don’t worry, as I’ll be covering everything in text form right here because I’m nice like that*.

*It’s also my job.

2025-06-04T20:36:03.386Z

The official PlayStation account has posted a reminder too!

The official PlayStation X / Twitter account has posted to remind everyone that the State of Play presentation is set to begin in 30 minutes (well, now about 25 minutes)!

2025-06-04T20:30:44.553Z

The clock is ticking, gamers. Just thirty minutes to go!

2025-06-04T20:22:48.126Z

Day's Gone Remastered

With the recent release of Day’s Gone Remastered, not to mention the Until Dawn remake, the big question on my mind going into the State of Play is which PlayStation game will receive the remake or remaster treatment next.

I’m on my hands and knees begging for Knack Remastered, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Maybe we’ll see some kind of God of War remaster, or maybe even a remaster collection? That would be pretty slick.

2025-06-04T20:11:41.934Z

Over 35,000 people are waiting to go

State of Play | June 4, 2025 [English] – YouTube
State of Play | June 4, 2025 [English] - YouTube

Watch On

Although the broadcast hasn’t started yet (don’t panic!) the State of Play live stream is up on YouTube. It’s just in a waiting room stage right now which isn’t too exciting, but it does tell us the number of overall active viewers right now.

Currently more than 35,000 people are waiting for the stream to begin – and that’s just on YouTube. I’m sure that number would be much higher if you tallied up all the other platforms that the State of Play will be airing.

2025-06-04T20:08:24.510Z

There’s less than an hour to go folks!

There is now just over fifty minutes to go until the State of Play. If you want to watch it live, this is your chance to get some last-minute chores out of the way.

I would also recommend getting a snack and a drink so that they are on hand for later. The presentation is only forty minutes long, but you still don’t want to risk missing a trailer if you need to stand up and get something from the kitchen.

Me? I’ve got a lovely little bottle of prosecco (please don’t tell my boss) and a small packet of biltong ready to go. Yum!

2025-06-04T17:12:52.376Z

Pausing for a break…

OK, I have to go and break for some dinner and to pack for a certain mid-year game festival I’m going to so we’ll be putting our live coverage down for a short while.

My colleague Dash will be picking this up again in a bit to guide you through the rest of the build-up and the show itself!

Hellblade 2 to say hello?

Senua battling a Draugar in Senuas Saga Hellblade 2

Surely this is a contender?

When it was announced that it was coming to PS5 last month, it came with the information that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 would be coming out ‘this summer’ and we would hear more soon or in the future.

Well, a PS5 game-focused State of Play in June seems to fit the bill perfectly for timing, as well as showing off what the sequel will be able to do and look like on PS5 and PS5 Pro.

I’m hyped for this one too, as it was one of my top games of last year and I’ve been itching for a reason to go back and replay it. The game looks and sounds fantastic, is hard-hitting, deeply interesting and impactful, and there’s a certain seductiveness to the bleakness of the Hellblade series that I’m a big fan of.

2025-06-04T17:02:09.561Z

Four hour warning!

We’re now only four hours from the start of tonight’s State of Play presentation!

What are you hoping for? Any wild expectations or ambitions?

I’ve got one more prediction which feels likely, but then I’ll haver to head off for dinner, and we’ll pick this back up a bit closer to the start of the show.

2025-06-04T16:45:41.805Z

Personal hope – where are my PS5 Pro console covers?

We know that the PS5 Pro shares some similarities with the PS5 Slim’s console covers and they are just as easy to remove – but where the heck are the versions for the premium PlayStation 5?

I’ve been waiting for news on these since launch and today’s State of Play seems as good a place as any to reveal them. Plus it’d be a welcome bit of hardware representation among the games.

2025-06-04T16:21:13.313Z

Snake to make an appearance?

New Metal Gear Solid Delta screenshot from the State of Play stream.

I reckon a really good bet is another look at the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remaster of the classic PS2 game, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

We know this will come out in August, and this is a perfect time to rumble the hype train on for the game and give Naked Snake another few minutes in the sun.

And as a PlayStation fan of a…certain age… let’s say, this is a game I’m really, really looking forward to coming out and eager to play. The Metal Gear Solid series is synonymous with PlayStation after all, so this is going to be a big one for Sony.

2025-06-04T15:51:57.545Z

Looks like Fortnite will make an appearance though…

However, something that looks quite likely to appear in the State of Play is Fortnite.

Posting the above on X / Twitter, the official Fortnite account seems to be strongly hinting that the game will have something to do with PlayStation – using the console’s famous symbols – and soon, too.

Is that a pair of eyes from the Fortnite banana skin/character too….?

What could it mean, though? It could simply be a look at the upcoming new season, but could it be something more… Who knows!

2025-06-04T15:37:37.758Z

Will we see more of The Witcher 4?

The Witcher 4

As much as I want this to be A Thing, I’m not sure seeing more of the next Witcher game from CD Projekt Red is that likely.

After all, it was only yesterday that we saw the tech demo at the State of Unreal presentation. It was breath-taking and only bodes well for the game, but i think the safe money is on CDPR keeping more of The Witcher 4 in its pocket for the time being.

That being said, stranger things have happened, and I’d love to see more in today’s State of Play.

2025-06-04T15:15:48.724Z

I’m back!

I have returned to continue our live build-up and chat in the run-up to tonight’s State of Play!

I’ll continue Dash’s trend and look to what I think might come up later today, or what I hope will make an appearance too.

2025-06-04T14:59:59.126Z

And with that, Rob has just let me know that he is out of his meetings and ready to take back over.

I’ll see you all again later tonight when the show begins!

2025-06-04T14:51:22.687Z

Will Pragmata finally get a new trailer?

A spaceman in Pragmata walking along an abandoned street

I’ve heard a lot of rumblings about a potential new trailer for Pragmata, that eye-catching Capcom game that showed up in the PS5 reveal event years ago now.

Described as an “all-new action adventure title that depicts a near-future dystopian world on the moon through a deeply profound story and setting,” the game was set to be a bit of a showcase for the power of modern consoles.

That said, we haven’t heard anything about the game since its reveal – which is generally not a great sign. Will we see a new trailer tonight? It’s possible, and honestly about time we see more.

2025-06-04T14:43:28.055Z

The memes are coming in

It wouldn’t be a State of Play without a barrage of jokey social media posts.

Here are some of the most amusing ones that I’ve spotted on the timeline…

2025-06-04T14:33:43.607Z

Bloodborne remastered?

Bloodborne

A potential Bloodborne remaster, remake, or even just simple PlayStation 5 patch will be high up on the wishlists of many going into this State of Play.

How likely do I think an announcement is? Unfortunately not very, as we haven’t heard any rumblings or rumors recently to suggest that it’s on the way.

Still, there’s a chance that it’s just been successfully kept under wrap. You never know what might be in store…

2025-06-04T14:19:22.138Z

What are you expecting tonight?

Lucia sits in prison scrubs

From a new Resident Evil game to more Grand Theft Auto 6 footage, speculation is ramping up as we get nearer to the start time. What do you expect to see tonight? Let us know in a post on X / Twitter tagging us @techradar for a chance to be featured in this coverage!

2025-06-04T14:05:10.967Z
