New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now a pro (or close to it) at Twitch and the popular game Among Us, having streamed to over 400,000 people back in October with fellow Rep. Ilhan Omar. She’s one of the few politicians who’s managed to use platforms like Twitch to reach voters in an effective way — and she employed the tactic again Friday night, albeit for a different cause.

Ocasio-Cortez played Among Us on Friday, this time to raise money for food pantries, eviction defense legal aid, and community support organizations:

As in October, Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t streaming alone. This time, leader of the Canadian New Democratic Party and MP Jagmeet Singh joined her, along with a cast of famed streamers like Hasan Piker, Twitch’s top streamer (who played with her in October, as well):

By the end of the night, Ocasio-Cortez, Singh, and the other players raised $200,000 to help people who are hungry and facing eviction amidst the pandemic:

“This is going to make such a difference for those who need it most right now,” wrote Ocasio-Cortez. The congresswoman hasn’t announced her next stream, but considering how successful her first two were, it’ll probably happen soon.
