If all of Disney’s new announcements don’t make you want to splurge on a new TV, we don’t know what will.
From live action Disney classics to Marvel to so many Star Wars spin-offs, there’s something for every type of fan to freak out over. You already know that the visuals will be next-level, and that an old HD TV (or, *shudder,* a laptop screen) won’t do these long-awaited sequels justice.
The current TV market is a mere husk of Cyber Week, but retailers haven’t left us out to dry completely. We found a few hidden leftover deals (as well as some early holiday deals), with the best ones being on affordable 65-inch and 70-inch models from Samsung, LG, and Hisense.
Here are the best TV deals this weekend from Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Samsung, and Dell. Choices are organized by brand, then size, then price:
Samsung
OUR TOP PICK: Samsung 65-inch Q70T QLED 4K UHD Smart TV (QN65Q70TAFXZA) — $1,097.99 (save $202)
Samsung gave us its best in the Q70T line and isn’t asking for much (money) in return. The expected advantages of Samsung’s QLED tech — a lush array of colors, dual backlighting for sharp contrast, and low input lag that’s ready for gaming — is all present, plus Ambient Mode made famous by The Frame. If you want a solid purchase that you can trust to keep it crisp over the years, this is an investment to feel good about.
LG
OUR TOP PICK: LG 70-inch 73 Series 4K UHD Smart TV (70UN7370PUC) — $696.99 (save $303)
Fill that big space on your wall without burning a hole in your wallet with 30% off a 70-inch TV from LG. The 2020 73 Series is a basic budget TV at its core, but makes up for run-of-the-mill brightness with sheer size and wide viewing angles. Shining points include active HDR with scene-by-scene picture adjustment and an excellent Magic Remote, which responds to voice commands and intuitive point-and-click motion control.
Sony
OUR TOP PICK: Sony 77-inch A9G Master Series OLED 4K Smart TV (XBR77A9G) — $3,499.99 (save $1,000)
This beautiful beast of a TV has been a favorite deal through the entire fall — but when a 77-inch Sony TV is officially at the 50% off mark, it’s hard to pick anything over it. This OLED masterpiece is armed with what Sony calls its best processor ever and uses Acoustic Surface Audio+ sound (dual actuators and subwoofers) to bring concert hall-like sound to each scene.
Hisense, Vizio, and more:
OUR TOP PICK: Hisense 75-inch Quantum ULED 4K Smart TV (75H8G) — $1,299.99 (save $600)
2020 was the year of big, cheap TVs, but was also the year of the affordable quantum dot. Hisense, a known budget-friendly brand, took a stab at the color-boosting technology. This huge ULED TV perks up the details in each scene, including the typically indecipherable shadows in dark cinematography.
