The Chandler Boulevard Bridge Home Village was designed by Lehrer Architects and the Bureau of Engineering as an emergency response to the homelessness crisis taking place in Los Angeles. The village holds 39 one- or two-person units using prefabricated “pallet shelters,” and was designed and built in just thirteen weeks.

The project is one of The Index Project nominees for Index Award 2021 – a prize for innovative design solutions that address genuine needs and hold the potential to improve life.
