Psst: Apple might be dropping a new iPad Pro sometime later this month.

Rumor has it that Apple is gearing up for a product launch on March 23 that’ll feature an updated version of the brand’s most powerful tablet (along with new AirPods, Apple TV, and a Bluetooth tracking device called AirTags). No word yet on what this new iPad Pro will look like, how much it’ll cost, or what kind of specs it’ll bring to the table — hell, Apple hasn’t even confirmed its existence yet — but keep your eyes peeled.

Apple last released an iPad Pro this same time last year, FWIW, and if you’re sure you don’t want to splurge on the hypothetical new model if/when it comes out, the 2020 version is an excellent buy right now: Both sizes are on sale on Amazon for up to $100 off. (You can get the 11-inch model for as low as $849, while the beefier 12.9-inch one starts at just $949.)

Available in silver or space gray, last year’s iPad Pro features a pretty edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display with ProMotion and True Tone technologies for zippy refresh rates and natural colors, respectively. Both sizes pack a fast A12Z Bionic chipset and a LiDAR scanner (for augmented reality apps) and give you the choice of 128GB to 1TB of storage space and optional cellular connectivity. Along those same lines, you’ll get an impressive 10-hour battery life with either model. (Really, the only major difference between the two is their measurements.)

Note that if you’re planning on using the 2020 iPad Pro as a laptop replacement, you’re definitely going to want to shell out for Apple’s Magic Keyboard (and maybe even a Magic Trackpad, too — iPadOS 13.4 finally introduced trackpad support). All iPad accessories are sold separately, which kind of sucks, but Amazon’s current sale pricing makes those extra costs way easier to stomach, IMO.
