Amazon Prime Day deals will kick off tomorrow, Monday June 21, at midnight PDT (3:00am ET) so it’s time to knuckle down and get into the deal-hunting groove. We’re rounding up all the biggest early discounts right here, but we’ll also be tracking the very best Prime Day deals as soon as they land so bookmark this page and stay tuned for more offers.

Amazon Prime Day is an annual sale discounting products exclusively for Prime members over 48 hours. That means you’ll need to have an active subscription to take part today, but luckily Amazon is offering a free 30-day Prime trial so that everyone can get involved.

Early Prime Day deals are already yielding some record-low prices on Echo devices that are worth considering. The Amazon Echo Dot and Amazon Echo smart speakers are both currently available for their cheapest prices yet, with discounts that we predict won’t improve further during the main event.

You do have to pick up two speakers to get this excellent offer, though, with a two-pack Echo Dot bundle available for $49.98 (was $99.98) and the main Echo sitting at $119.98 (was $199.98) for two.

We’re also seeing some early Prime Day deals on devices that have only recently launched. The Echo Frames are seeing their first price cut, now down to $174.99 (was $249.99), meanwhile the latest generation Echo Buds are available for $79.99 (was $119.99). The fact that both of these devices are so new to the shelves, and have only just seen their biggest discounts ever, means we’re unlikely to see their prices drop again once Amazon Prime Day 2021 fully kicks off.

Of course, we’re expecting Prime Day deals on a wide range of tablets, laptops, TVs, headphones, smartwatches and more. The bigger brands are usually kept for sales during the main event, but you’ll find our pick of the best early Prime Day deals below – we think these prices are unlikely to drop any further.

Get a 30-day free trial of Prime
If you don’t have Prime membership, you can still get access to this year’s Prime Day deals by signing up for a free 30-day trial of Prime. That’ll give you early access to some offers – plus all the usual perks. You can cancel the trial at any time within the 30 days, no strings attached. Just be aware that if you don’t, it will auto-renew at $12.99 per month once your trial is up.

The best Amazon deals for non-Prime members

Official early Prime Day deals are all centred on Amazon’s own Echo brands, however do expect Amazon Prime Day 2021 offers to branch further into big names like Apple and Samsung when the event starts on Monday. Until then, we’ve rounded up a few of the best deals already available, which may not be beaten in the main sale. While nothing is guaranteed, competition is going to heat up over the next few days, which means getting your hands on these devices at these prices may prove more difficult as time goes on.

Apple AirPods 2019: $159 $119 at Amazon

iPad 8th generation (32GB): $329 $299 at Amazon
Save $30 –
Amazon currently has the latest 8th generation iPad available for its lowest price yet thanks to a $30 discount. This is a particularly popular offer but you’ll find the Space Gray, Gold, and Silver models available here. Amazon Prime Day deals FAQs

When is Amazon Prime Day 2021?

Amazon Prime Day 2021 will take place on June 21 and 22. However, we’re already seeing early Prime Day deals landing on the site, and we expect these offers to ramp up as we turn the corner to the big day as well. That means we’d keep an eye out for any discounts heading your way over the next couple of weeks.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is fast becoming one of the bigger sales events of the year. The annual savings event offers up 48 hours of discounts on everything from the latest tech to homeware, fashion, personal care and garden furniture. However, these Prime Day deals are reserved for Prime members so you’ll need to grab a Prime free trial before things kick off.

How do you prepare for Amazon Prime Day deals?

As Amazon Prime Day 2021 approaches, you’ll want to get your homework underway. Whether you’re hopeful for some big TV price drops or a new laptop, it’s worth making sure you know exactly what you want to get from this year’s Prime Day deals.

That means going beyond the brand or model you are looking for, and taking note of the specs and features that are important to you. In the heat of the moment there’s going to be a lot of prices and specs flying around, and to get the best Prime Day deals possible you’ll need to know exactly what you’re looking for.

Plus, your first choice model may not even be discounted which means you’ll also want to find out which features you’re willing to sacrifice for a lower price and what you would be willing to spend above your budget if there was bags of extra value in a slightly higher cost.

That also means doing a little research on what prices you can expect to see. Camelcamelcamel is a good starting place for finding out the record low price of your chosen items, as well as their Prime Day deals last year. Aim for a middle ground between these two costs, as factors like demand, launch dates and any releases since Prime Day last year may effect both prices.

Now that we’re fully in the run up to Amazon Prime Day deals, you can also get some cash in the bank ready for some discounts. Amazon is again offering a $10 credit for Prime Day when you spend $10 on small business products, starting June 7.

How do you find the best Prime Day deals?

The best Amazon Prime Day deals don’t always make themselves immediately apparent. However, they do sell out fast so you’ll need to go in with a game plan. Here’s our top tips for bagging the best Prime Day deals for you.

1. Find an Amazon Prime free trial…
Amazon Prime Day is technically reserved for Prime members only, however Amazon usually offers free trials in the lead up to the event to make sure it has as large a customer base as possible. If you’re not already subscribed, you’ll find free trials available up to three weeks in advance but be sure to time your membership to run over the Prime Day dates once we know them.

2. … but don’t rely on it
Last year we saw more retailers participating in Prime Day-esque sales in order to steal a little of Amazon’s pie. We expect stores like Walmart and Best Buy will be running their own discounts over the same period this year, which means you’ll want to be shopping around to find the best Prime Day deals possible – because some may not even be on Amazon at all.

3. Know what you want to buy…
If you’re coming into Amazon Prime Day with your eyes on a prize, you’re already in a fantastic position to scoop up a saving. Knowing what you want to buy means you can filter through to the exact product you’re after without having to wade through the lightning deals, wasting time while doing so. Check the specs, features, and any design considerations you’re after beforehand and, if possible, check out some options in-store so that you know exactly what you’re looking for on the big day.

4. … but stay flexible
That said, it’s unwise to rest on the assumption that the particular TV or tablet you’re after will be on sale. You can waste a lot of time trying to find any discounts on the particular model you’re after if there are just no savings to be found – and you may be missing out on more valuable Prime Day deals in the process. It’s great to go in with a brand and model in mind, but think about what you want to get out of it and be flexible with these specs and features for the best value possible.

Similarly, you’ll want to build some flexibility into your budget. While it’s never a good idea to get caught up in the moment and break the bank, it’s worth shopping around similarly specced models to see if you can’t pick up far better value just by springing an extra $10 or $20.

5. Get in there early…
When Prime Day itself rolls around, you’ll want to be one of the first through the doors to give yourself the most time to find the best offers for you. High profile discounts on the year’s hottest tech do run out quickly, so we wouldn’t wait around too long if you do stumble across the perfect price.

6. … but check back throughout the event
Just because you’ve managed to secure your dream deal straight out the gate doesn’t mean Amazon is done. New deals are released throughout the entire sales window, which means you may find a better option worth cancelling your original order for.

Amazon Prime Day vs Black Friday – should you wait?

Both Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday generally offer discounts on the same kinds of devices, but there are a few differences between the sales events that hold bearing over both the value on offer and the ease of actually getting the deals into your basket.

Amazon Prime Day deals are largely focused on Amazon itself, with others like Best Buy and Walmart competing against them. Competition among shoppers is also significantly reduced on Prime Day, which all together means that deals are generally easier to find, easier to price check, and won’t run out of stock so quickly.

However, Black Friday is set across a much larger range of retailers, often with prices that manage to come in just a little cheaper and a wider variety of brands on sale. That does mean a lot more work to make sure you’re getting the best offer possible, and keeping a close eye out for limited stock flash sales that make up for most of those lowest price records. However, with more competition between retailers we do tend to see slightly heavier discounts in November.

Of course, you may also simply want your tech sooner. If so, we wouldn’t recommend waiting too long for a discount. There’s no guarantee that prices will be any different come Black Friday, and with such an increase in competition you’re also less likely to come across the best deals before they’re gone as well.

What should you expect from Amazon Prime Day deals 2021?

Amazon Prime Day deals are a little easier to predict than other major sales events. For starters, we can safely assume that there will be some excellent prices on the latest Echo devices, Fire tablets and other Amazon-owned brands like Ring, Blink and Eufy. However, aside from these smart home devices there’s likely to be plenty more of the year’s top tech on sale as well.

After an increase in demand brought on by the pandemic, Amazon struggled to fully stock its Prime Day laptop deals last year. However, we’re expecting a wider range on the shelves in 2021, and while an earlier start may mean fewer 11th gen Intel processors on the market we’re likely to see far more 10th gen models available for far lower prices this year.

If you’re in the market for a new display, Prime Day TV deals are some of the more competitive on the site so you’ll need to get in fast. Indeed, we saw many of the best Prime Day deals run out of stock here last year, but we are expecting the Fire-enabled models and cheaper TLC and Hisense screens to make a comeback in 2021.

Apple was a particularly strong category for Amazon Prime Day last year, and we’re expecting to see more of the same in 2021. While the new 8th generation iPad, iPad Air 4 and M1 MacBooks were still in their infancy last year, we still saw a few discounts which was particularly promising considering these premium gadgets rarely take early price cuts. We’ve already seen lower prices than those offered by Prime Day last year, however, so expect some excellent deals in this arena – and potentially some even better iPad Pro offers as well.

The best way to predict the best Amazon Prime Day deals for 2021 is to take a look at last year’s offerings. You’ll find all the biggest discounts that were available back then just below, so you can benchmark your expectations.

What happened in last year’s Prime Day deals?

Last year, Prime Day was delayed until October 13-14, in an unprecedented move for the sixth annual shopping event. It made sense: consumers were facing an economic downtown over the summer, and the delay also gave Amazon time to deal with the huge increase in orders it had seen during lockdown.

Despite concerns around stock and shipping during the pandemic, Prime Day was even bigger than the year before, with an extra $3.24bn-worth of products sold globally.

Some $10.4 billion-worth of goods were sold in total, so what were people buying? Well, according to Amazon – and our data mirrors the findings – the best-selling products globally were (as usual) Amazon’s own devices: the Echo Dot and Fire Stick 4K.

Other top sellers included the iRobot Roomba Robot Vacuum, LifeStraw Personal Water Filter, LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet, Bose QuietComfort 35 II wireless headphones and Fitbit Versa 2 smartwatch. Robot vacuums, in particular, were hot products on our pages.

Amazon had been battling it out with Verizon over the AirPods Pro price in the summer, but this $199 price tag was the lowest we’d seen yet when Prime Day rolled around. A previous $219 sales price was holding fast until these ANC earbuds but an extra $20 off made this a stunning offer.

Last year’s Amazon Prime Day laptop deals

From super cheap Windows laptops to powerful gaming rigs, there were a few laptop deals that could our eye over Amazon Prime Day last year. While the range of offers available wasn’t as large as in recent years, likely due to demand driven up by the pandemic, you could still score a discount on a range of machines. Lenovo IdeaPad S150 14-inch laptop: $331 $252 at Amazon

2020 Asus VivoBook 15.6-inch laptop: $669 $599 at Amazon

2020 Apple MacBook Air: $999 $849.99 at Amazon
This was a late addition to Amazon’s Prime Day deals, but you could grab the MacBook Air for just $849.99. That’s some serious value for money, even without the early Prime Day discount.

Razer Blade Stealth 13.3-inch gaming laptop: $1,799.99 $1,499.99 at Amazon
It may be small, but this super portable Razer Blade Stealth packs a serious punch. You’re picking up a 10th generation i7 processor inside, with 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650Ti Max-Q graphics. All of that sits in an aluminium chassis with full Chroma RGB and a 120Hz display.

Last year’s Amazon Prime Day TV deals

4K TVs were big business over Amazon Prime Day last year. With excellent discounts on budget brands like TCL and Hisense offering some super cheap displays, it was possible to grab a 4K TV for just over $200 last year. Of course, there were also more premium offerings up for grabs, with larger savings on luxury LG CX OLED panels and Samsung’s QLED range as well.

TCL 32-inch 1080p Roku smart TV: $189.99 $149.99 at Amazon
This 32-inch TCL Roku smart TV doesn’t offer 4K resolution, in fact you’re only getting 1080p here, but it did come in with a good discount over Amazon Prime Day.

Hisense 43-inch H6570G 4K TV: $269.99 $219.99 at Amazon
You could save $50 on this already very well priced 4K TV by Hisense. You were picking up a 43-inch display for a fantastic cost right now – perfect if you were looking for a cheaper display and you’re happy to sacrifice some of the more premium features on offer.

Whether you were looking for true wireless earbuds or the biggest over-ear cups you could find, headphone deals were offering big savings. This year we’ve already seen new Samsung Galaxy Buds taking their first price drops and the AirPods Pro price has already dropped a further $10 when on sale, so we’re looking forward to some even better offers in 2021.

Sony WF-1000XM3 true wireless earbuds: $229.99 $178 at Amazon
We rated the Sony WF-1000XM3 true wireless earbuds highly last year, and though we had seen this $50 discount for a while now, it was an excellent price for the power you’re getting in these noise cancelling buds.

AirPods Pro: $249 $199 at Amazon
Amazon had been battling it out with Verizon over the AirPods Pro price over the summer, but this $199 price tag was the lowest we’ve seen yet once Prime Day rolled around. A previous $219 sales price was holding fast until these Prime Day deals, but an extra $20 off makes this a stunning offer.
