All eight of Amazon’s Fire tablets are on sale as of Feb. 17 — here are the best deals:
It’s no secret that Amazon saves the best deals on its devices for Black Friday and major holidays, so it wasn’t surprising to see its popular lineup of Fire tablets go on sale this past Presidents Day weekend. What is surprising is that those deals are still lingering throughout the site mid-week, but hey — no complaints here.
Ideal for reading, browsing the interwebs, watching videos, and listening to music, you can snag a Fire or Fire Kids Edition tablet for as cheap as $39.99, if you’re fast. (There’s no telling when Amazon will decide to pull these discounts, so our advice is to buy sooner rather than later.)
Here’s the scoop:
Offering some solid bang for your buck even at its original retail price, 2019’s Fire HD 10 is a 10.1-inch tablet with a beautiful 1080p Full HD display and your choice of 32 or 64GB of internal storage. (That’s expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card, by the way.) With up to 12 hours of mixed-use battery life on a single charge, it’s one of the longer-lasting tablets Amazon makes, and a 2.0GHz octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM both make for smooth, speedy performance.
The 32GB model usually sits at $149.99, but Amazon had it on sale at the time of writing for only $94.99 — a 37% savings. (For $40 more, you can double that storage space: The 64GB version is now just $134.99, or 29% off its $189.99 MSRP.)
It’s hardly anything special spec-wise — there’s hands-free Alexa support, dual front and rear-facing cameras (with 720p HD video recording), expandable storage, and a 7(ish)-hour battery — but very few tablets are more wallet-friendly than the Fire 7, another 2019 release. (Click here to read Mashable tech reporter Alex Perry’s official take on it.)
Available in black, plum, sage, and twilight blue, both the 16GB and 32GB models are $10 off post-Presidents Day: Grab the former for only $39.99 or the latter for just $59.99 (a 20% or 14% savings, respectively).
Our absolute favorite tablet for kids features Dolby Atmos speakers, customizable parental controls, up to 12 hours of battery life, 32GB of storage, a durable case with a built-in stand, and a two-year worry-free guarantee in case of drops and spills. Plus, Amazon throws in a free year’s worth of Amazon Kids+ (normally $2.99/month), which unlocks access to more than 20,000 educational apps, games, videos, books, and Audible books for little tykes— a great resource for distance learning.
On sale for only $89.99 (down 36% from its $139.99 MSRP), the Fire HD 8 Kids is now just $10 away from its all-time-low Cyber Weekend price. Choose from three different case colors: blue, pink, or purple.
MORE GREAT DEALS
The 16GB Fire 7 Kids Edition comes with the same parental controls, kid-proof case, worry-free guarantee, and one-year Amazon Kids+ trial as the aforementioned Fire HD 8, but omits the Dolby Atmos speakers, super long battery life, and fancy HD display for a cheaper price point.
It’s even cheaper than usual at the moment: Amazon’s decided to bring back its record-low Black Friday price of $59.99, which is 40% off its $99.99 MSRP.
One of the newer members of the Fire family, the 2020 Fire HD 8 has 2GB of RAM and a 2.0GHz quad-core processor, which makes it 30 percent faster than the 2018 version. Other highlights include a 12-hour battery life and an internal memory of either 32GB or 64GB that’s expandable up to a whole terabyte (!).
The 32GB model is 28% off at the moment, so you’ll pay just $64.99 (normally $89.99); for $30 more, you can score the 64GB one on sale for $94.99 (typically $119.99), which is a 21% markdown. Either way, take your pick from four different colors: black, plum, twilight blue, or white.
The Fire HD 8 Plus gets you the same features as the standard Fire HD 8, plus an additional gigabyte of RAM and support for wireless charging.
Available in a sleek slate finish, you can grab the 32GB version for $84.99 or the 64GB model for $114.99 — that’s a savings of 23% and 18%, respectively.
The kid-friendly version of last year’s Fire HD 8s comes with 32GB of storage (again expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card), a 12-hour battery life, dual Dolby Atmos speakers, and those same perks as its Kids Edition compatriots: a 2-year worry-free guarantee, a colorful case with a kickstand, and a year’s worth of Amazon Kids+.
It’s yours for just $89.99, which is 36% off its suggested retail price of $139.99 (and only $10 away from its lowest price ever).
Rated highly by Amazon reviews for its huge touchscreen and battery life, the Fire HD 10 Kids Edition is a childproof translation of the regular Fire HD 10, sprinkling in parental controls and improved durability with its 1080p full HD display, 2GB of RAM, octa-core processor, 12-hour battery life, expandable storage, and Dolby Atmos speakers.
Typically the priciest of the bunch at $199.99, it’s now on sale for just $139.99, or 30% off.
