As of June 10, two configurations of Apple’s 27-inch iMac (2020) are on sale on Amazon for up to 20% off:
We like to think of Amazon’s early Prime Day deals as tea leaves for the main event — and from the looks of things, Apple users looking to save on an upgrade will be well-fed come June 21 and 22.
Hot on the heels of deals on the Apple Watch Series 6, AirPods Max, and the new AirTag Bluetooth tracker comes a can’t-miss sale starring last year’s 27-inch iMac, a beefy desktop computer with a gorgeous 5K Retina display: As of June 10, you could save an extra $199.01 to $299.01 at checkout (depending on the configuration) on top of an existing $100 discount Amazon was offering.
Choose from two different models, both with 8GB of RAM: There’s a 256GB model with a 3.1 GHz Intel Core processor that’s currently listed for just $1,499.99 (normally $1,799), and a 512GB version with a 3.3 GHz Intel Core processor that’s now going for only $1,599.99 (typically $1,999) — a 17 and 20% savings, respectively. (Either one is a stellar buy in our book: Those are easily their best-ever prices since debuting last August, according to the price-tracking site camelcamelcamel.)

Apple bills its 2020 27-inch iMac as a powerful machine for creators — photographers, video editors, graphic designers, and the like — but it also works as a fantastic family computer, said tech reporter Brenda Stolyar (who reviewed it for Mashable last summer). A 1080p FaceTime camera makes it perfect for video hangouts and meetings, for those of us who have made the WFH thing permanent, while its stereo speakers have calls, music, and YouTube videos alike sounding crystal-clear. Plus, it comes ready for action with both a Magic Keyboard 2 and a Magic Mouse 2.
The only real bummer about the 27-inch iMac is its lack of Apple silicon — the M1 chip launched the generation after it in those colorful new 24-inch iMacs — but rest assured that its 10th-generation Intel processor (combined with AMD Radeon Pro 5300 graphics) is plenty fast for virtually any tasks.
