SAVE UP TO $99.01: The new Mac Mini with Apple’s in-house M1 chip is on sale on Amazon as of Feb. 18 — get the 256GB model for the all-time-low price of just $599.99 with an extra discount applied at checkout (normally $699), or upgrade to the 512GB version for only $849 (down $50 from $899).

Apple sent the tech world into a tizzy last fall when it dropped some new hardware with its own custom-made M1 silicon chip, the company’s first-ever proprietary processor. It was a huge move for a couple of reasons: One, it meant Tim Cook and pals were no longer relying on Intel to power their machines. More importantly, it meant us consumers could now get our hands on Apple devices with improved performance, better battery life, and iOS app support.

If you’re in need of a new computer and want to see what all the hype’s about, the M1-equipped Mac mini is a great place to start: It connects to the monitor of your choosing and comes in at a fraction of the price of the M1 MacBook Air and Pro (which start at $999 and $1,299, respectively). Actually, it’s even cheaper than usual right now — the 256GB Mac mini is going for only $599.99 on Amazon thanks to an extra discount that’s applied at the checkout, which works out to a savings of just under $100 (or 14%). Data on the price-tracking site camelcamelcamel shows that this is its lowest price since its November release. (We clocked it at $639 at Adorama on Black Friday, FWIW.)

For double the storage space, you can upgrade to the 512GB Mac mini — it was going for only $849 on Amazon the last time we checked, which is a solid $50 off its $899 MSRP.

Both configurations of this bad boy come with 8GB of RAM and an 8-core CPU, which gets you up to three times speedier performance compared to the previous-gen Mac mini from 2018. You’ll also find an 8-core GPU under their hoods for up to six times faster graphics, which means the potential for a better Mac gaming experience is there. And Apple’s addition of a 16-core Neural Engine makes the Mac minis especially great for machine learning tasks, so photo- and video-editing apps with ML technology (see: Final Cut Pro) run faster and smoother than ever.

Hit the blue button below to take advantage of Amazon’s sale pricing on the Mac mini. (Note that 256GB model is on backorder until April, but you can order it today to lock in that discount.)
