Apple’s annual event, the Worldwide Developers Conference, has an official start date of June 10, the company revealed Tuesday. The show will have the traditional looks at upcoming software updates for Apple’s line of devices, but this year could see something even bigger from the iPhone maker.

WWDC takes place on June 10-14 at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. The big kickoff is the company’s keynote which is typically reserved for the newest version of its iOS, macOS, iPad OS, watchOS, tvOS, and for the recently released Vision Pro, visionOS. The expectation for this year’s conference is Apple will finally make the leap into AI.

Analysts believe iOS 18 will be Apple’s introduction to generative AI as it could be added to iPhones. So far, Apple’s efforts to make its own ChatGPT clone have yet to come to fruition, and it even asked Google for some help. The latest rumor is that Apple is working with Chinese internet company Baidu to use its AI, but there is no confirmation of that partnership yet.

If Apple doesn’t reveal a new AI then there will likely be more talk about its Vision Pro. The VR/AR headset launched in February and preorders for the $3,500 device sold out weeks before meaning Apple could have sold more than 200,000 units. Apple is reportedly working on a cheaper Vision Pro, but it’s unlikely it will be revealed at this year’s WWDC.

Along with new software, WWDC is also a time for Apple to reveal new hardware although not iPhones, AirPods, or the Apple Watch as those typically are traditionally revealed at an event in the fall. Last year, along with the Vision Pro, Apple also showcased its 15-inch Macbook Air.
