Every time!
BTS have dropped their absolute banger of a single “Butter” along with its official video, and appear to have smashed yet another few YouTube records.
“Butter” is reportedly the fastest YouTube video ever to hit 10 million views, reached in 13 minutes, smashing the record set by BTS’ own single “Dynamite” last summer.
According to Forbes, the new video dropped by the K-pop superstars at midnight ET on Friday estimated 3.89 million concurrent viewers, which would also make it the biggest music video premiere ever — “Dynamite” held the record with 3 million concurrent viewers on release.
YouTube’s official numbers, Forbes reports, will be released in the coming days, but it’s looking good.
Here’s the video, to which I personally will be contributing millions more views.

The “Butter” video is currently sitting at 50 million views within six hours, at the time of writing. Given the mighty organising power of their ARMY fanbase, and seeing as though the promo teaser video for the release — literally a video of an animated piece of butter melting — clocked up almost 17 million views since dropping on April 26, the actual “Butter” video should have little problem breaking the record for the most views in a 24-hour period.
Look, the group even spells out the word “ARMY” in the video and gives a direct shoutout in the lyrics (“Got ARMY right behind us when we say so”). Everyone’s gonna want to see that like, 20 million times each.
Excepting that creepy Paramount Pictures Rings prank, BTS’ “Dynamite” holds the record for most views in a 24-hour period, boasting over 101 million views on the first day the video was live. It overtook Blackpink’s “How You Like That” which saw 86.3 million views in 24 hours.
We’ll keep you posted.
