Conan O’Brien’s “Clueless Gamer” segment has long been an audience favourite. Seeing the late show host valiantly attempt video games with the tutelage of his celebrity guests is just good TV.

And it’s been a while between sessions, but Conan brought the segment back on Wednesday, playing as a mammalian mutant warrior in the open-world, post-apocalyptic game Biomutant, by Swedish developer Experiment 101. He’s joined by Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s JB Smoove, who is simply the most encouraging person ever, and “the best coach I’ve ever had,” according to Conan.

“This is what the 405 freeway will look like in two years if we don’t get new infrastructure,” remarks Conan of the game’s post-apocalyptic wasteland. His review? “I think this game would be perfect if there was a little less talking. And when I say a little less, I mean a lot less.”

Stick around for Conan’s voiceover at the end (and sorry to the developers?).

Biomutant is out on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
