What’s new in Fortnite?

Fortnite Chapter 6 is finally here, continuing with Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 which is set to switch up the map once again. There’ll be new weapons to try out, a superhero-themed Battle Pass, as well as updates centered around Superman himself.
We don’t yet know exactly what’s to follow in the next season of Fortnite, but it looks like Superman is involved in a major way. It’s frequent updates like these that make Fortnite one of the best battle royale games around. Last season concluded earlier today (June 7) with a live event called Death Star Sabotage!

When does the current season of Fortnite end?
Fortnite Galactic Battle ended on June 7, 2025 at 2PM ET / 7PM GMT.
Downtime has followed this, estimated to be completed after 6 hours of the game being offline.
When is the next season of Fortnite?
The next season of Fortnite has yet to be fully revealed, but it’ll launch following downtime on June 7 at 7PM PT / 10PM ET / 1AM BST (June 8). Hopefully, downtime ends as expected, but it’s worth noting that things have been known to slip slightly in the past.

Epic Games has not fully revealed what’s in store for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, but given that the current one is now over and we’re in downtime, we won’t have to wait long. What we do know is that Superman is involved, the new version that’ll debut in James Gunn’s Superman movie. Other than that, we’ll have to wait and see what Epic confirms later on.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 map changes
Here’s the full map for Fortnite Galactic Battle. As you can see in the image above, there’s new locations called Outpost Enclave, First Order Base, Resistance Base, and Vader’s Samurai Solitude. This will likely change for Season 3, and I’m betting on there being Superman-themed locations. This could mean Metropolis, Clark Kent’s family farm, and maybe even the Fortress of Solitude. Here’s hoping.
