If you, like me, open a new tab on the Safari app of your iPhone every time you have a dumb question to Google search, you probably have a million tabs open right now.
You definitely don’t want someone to come across your dumbest questions, so yes, you should close your tabs. For good measure, you should also clear your cache, which will erase your internet history from your device and protect you from eternal embarrassment. Here’s how:
Open your Settings, and find Safari.
You have to scroll quite a bit, but Safari is hidden in there.

Go into the place where all iPhone secrets are kept: the Settings. Scroll down to Safari, and tap it.
Try not to get overwhelmed by all the options.
Who knew Safari had so many settings you could mess with? The good news is you only need to find one right now, and you can ignore all the others.
It’ll only be blue if you have internet history to clear.

Scroll until you see “Clear History and Website Data.” This option will be in blue, close to the bottom of the screen, and will only be clickable if you actually have data to erase. If you’ve erased it recently and haven’t built up internet history since, it will appear in gray text and won’t click.
Make sure you want to clear your cache on all connected devices before clicking.

Tap it, and that’s it! A popup message will ask you to confirm before clearing, as doing so will clear your cache from all all devices signed into your iCloud account.
Once you’ve done the deed, you can rest easy, knowing that your weirdest internet searches can stay your little secret. Unless, of course, you did all that searching on your Google account.
