Shopping for the perfect gift is an almost impossible task. Even if you have a list, you run the risk of not getting the right brand or the right type of thing. You’re quite literally putting all your money on one single gift that will please the person you care about on Christmas morning.
But I found a guaranteed way to please the most discerning gift recipient in the world: the gift of streaming subscriptions. Because with streaming, you’re not just getting one thing — you’re getting hundreds, even thousands, of high-quality movies and TV shows from the past and present. And this Black Friday, there’s a plethora of great deals on top streamers like Hulu and Max that will make the perfect present, even if it’s for yourself.
Need more streaming deals? Then read I just spent $90, and I’m never paying for streaming again.
This Disney+ and Hulu deal is twice as good
Two of the biggest streamers around, Disney+ and Hulu, are unlikely bedfellows as they are owned by the same company, the Walt Disney Company. Yet it makes sense to have them both in your life. Where else can you access the entire libraries of Star Wars, Pixar, and the MCU with the more mature fare from 20th Century Studios? You can watch Deadpool & Wolverine, Andor, Bluey, and Agatha All Along with Poor Things, the horror film Immaculate, and the sci-fi epic The Creator. That’s all you ever need in life.
Well, subscribing to both of them is a lot less cheaper, at least for Black Friday. For just $2.99 for 12 months, you can subscribe to the Disney+/Hulu Duo Basic bundle. While this plan has ads, it gives you access to some of the biggest movies and TV shows around. And it’s a big discount from the usual $10.99 a month fee for both streamers.
Like all Black Friday deals, this one will go fast, expiring just before midnight on December 2, 2024. And this offer is available for new and returning Hulu and Disney+ subscribers who have not subscribed to either streamer in the last month. Yes, that’s a lot of caveats, but trust me, it’s worth it.
Want only Hulu? Well, here’s a great deal for you
For some, they don’t want any of Disney+’s superheroes and cartoons. And that’s fine! Hulu is offering a once-in-a-lifetime deal to get all the movies and shows you love (or want to watch) for an unbelievable price that doesn’t include Mickey Mouse or Deadpool. Even by itself, Hulu is an amazing streaming services that has quality content. The hit movies Alien: Romulus and Hold Your Breath are available to watch in addition to the latest seasons of Only Murders in the Building and Abbott Elementary.
Hulu’s Black Friday sale, which is live now and ends on December 2, is for its monthly subscription with ads tier. Normally, that would cost you $9.99 each month, but Hulu is offering the next 12 months for the stunningly low price of $0.99. That’s right, you can stream all the hits for less than a dollar each month! This an incredible deal that ranks as one of the best this season. So what are you waiting for?
Max’s Black Friday deal gives you some of the best content around
I can’t function in a world without HBO and Max. Why? Well, it’s the home of Warner Bros, and The Criterion Collection, and DC Comics, and Discovery Channel, and… well, I could go on and on. The streamer is offering a once-in-a-lifetime deal to get all the movies and shows you love (or want to watch) for an unbelievable price. Hit movies Wonka, Trap, Godzilla x Kong, Furiosa, and Dune: Part Two as well as great word-of-mouth shows like The Penguin and Dune: Prophecy make Max the destination streamer for movie and TV fans like myself.
Their Black Friday sale, which is live now and ends on December 2, is for their monthly subscription with ads tier. Normally, that would cost you $9.99 each month, but Max is offering the next six months for a the stunningly low price of $2.99. There are deals on other tiers and subscription packages, but this one is by far my favorite. If you pass it up, you’ll regret it.
A mountain of entertainment for a low, low price
Paramount Pictures is one of Hollywood’s most legendary studios. It’s where classics such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Godfather, Friday the 13th, the Mission: Impossible movies, and recent hits like A Quiet Place: Day One were created (or, at the very least, distributed). In the streaming era, Paramount naturally created its own streaming platform to compete with Netflix and Hulu called Paramount+.
Overshadowed by its peers, Paramount+ is quietly impressive, and its Black Friday deal is the perfect opportunity to try it out. There are two subscriptions being offered at a discount: the ad-based Essential plan and the ad-free plan that pairs Paramount+ with Showtime. The deal is the same for both: $2.99 for the first two months, and then the regular price of $8 for the Essential plan and $13 for the Paramount+ with Showtime plan.
My recommendation is to snag the Paramount+ with Showtime deal. There are no pesky ads, and you get access to all the quality Showtime content such as The Curse with Emma Stone and Fellow Travelers with Wicked star Jonathan Bailey. But hurry! These deals expire on December 4.
From eating turkeys to a great Peacock deal
Along with Paramount+, Peacock doesn’t get much love or attention from the public. It’s a shame, as the streaming service is home to all things NBC and Universal Pictures, two entertainment behemoths that have given us The Office, the Law & Order franchise, Saturday Night Live, The Fall Guy, the Despicable Me movies, The Voice, Poker Face, The Real Housewives reality shows, the 2024 Paris Olympics, and so much more.
And yes, you can stream Yellowstone here. You’ll have to wait a bit for its current season to be available, but there are four other seasons you can watch for the first time or binge again and again. Want Dutton family drama this year? Peacock is one of the places where you can find it.
This Black Friday, Peacock is offering a sweetheart of a deal: You can get one year for just $19.99. You’ll save a whopping 75% off the usual annual subscription rate of $79.99. If a year is too long for you to commit, then Peacock is offering a monthly discount option for $1.99 each month for six months.
After that, your subscription will revert to the standard $7.99-per-month rate. Please note that both deals are for the Premium tier, which does have ads. Peacock has Premium Plus tier that does not have ads, but it is being offered at their usual rates of $13.99 a month and $139.99 a year.
