LG just revealed its 2026 Gram lineup, and the big talking point right now is weight. These new Gram laptops take the idea of an ultra-portable laptop further by using a newly developed material called Aerominum, which makes the chassis exceptionally light while remaining tough and durable.
It also resists scratches better and meets strict military-grade standards for ruggedness. The result is what LG is calling the world’s lightest 17-inch laptop with dedicated RTX graphics, a claim that immediately grabs attention for anyone who hates lugging heavy gear around.
What’s new in the 2026 Gram laptops?

The new Gram series will be showcased at CES 2026 and continues LG’s long history of building super-light notebooks. The lineup includes the LG Gram Pro 17 and LG Gram Pro 16 with some distinct twists.
The 17-inch model stands out because it squeezes a large 2560 x 1600 LCD display, 8GB of GDDR7 memory, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU into a body that feels closer in size to many 16-inch laptops.
LG says this device provides “ample performance for graphics-intensive tasks, content creation, and gaming.” However, it is unlikely to satisfy most hardcore gamers and it might be best suited for entry-level to mid-range gaming at 1080p. Also, this model will only be available in North America.
The 16-inch Pro model sets a new benchmark for being the lightest 16-inch system with both on-device and cloud-based AI support. It has a 2880 x 1800 OLED screen and runs on Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors, making it quick for everyday multitasking, editing, streaming, and more demanding jobs.

The 16-inch Gram Pro also introduces what LG calls dual AI functionality. It means the laptop can run certain AI features directly on the device using its hardware, while also tapping into cloud-based AI services when you are online.
Availability and prices have not been announced by LG yet, but the company is gearing up for a full reveal at CES next week.
As CES 2026 gets closer, LG is shaping up to dominate headlines well beyond laptops. The company is already teasing what could become 2026’s next big TV trend, alongside plans to debut a 27-inch 4K OLED RGB stripe panel and a premium OLED TV that could outshine mini LED in peak brightness. Together, these announcements suggest CES 2026 will be a major moment for LG across displays, TVs, and computing.
