Chag sameach to my fellow Jews and goys alike! Saturday Night Live celebrated the annual Feast of the Unleavened Bread in style, with a star-studded gathering at the home of Vice President Kamala Harris (Maya Rudolph) and her Jewish husband, Doug Emhoff (Martin Short).
The “unity Seder” sees Harris reaching across the aisle to invite some of the… uh… luminaries? in the Republican party for dinner. That includes Ted Cruz (Aidy Bryant), who shows up with pork and bread — observant Jews don’t eat the former and, during Passover, forgo the latter. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (Cecily Strong) also pays the Harris-Emhoff crew a visit, entering through a window “insurrection-style,” which is her thing now.
I won’t spoil all the jokes but Reverend Senator Raphael Warnock (Kenan Thompson), President Joe Biden (Alex Moffat), and Major Biden (an actual dog!) also pop up, along with a very special appearance from Ella Emhoff (Chloe Fineman).
