Get ready because Netflix is diving horns first into the world of DC Comics.

On Thursday, the streaming giant dropped its first teaser for Sweet Tooth — an eight-part adventure series that aims to combine the best of the fairytale and sci-fi genres

Based on the beloved comic written and drawn by Jeff Lemire (40 issues of which were produced between 2009 and 2013), Sweet Tooth takes place in post-apocalyptic world that’s full of strange and beautiful — but still dangerous — natural wonders. Whether these wonders were caused by the deadly pandemic that came with them, or whether they caused the pandemic, is a mystery to humanity.

Here the titular Sweet Tooth, a hybrid deer-boy also known as Gus (Christian Connery), teams up with a mysterious loner named Jeppard (Nonso Anozie) for an epic and sweeping adventure. Filmed in New Zealand during the actual COVID-19 pandemic, Sweet Tooth seems set to combine gorgeous visuals with a heartfelt story of family.

We’ll see how well executive producers Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr. do adapting this story for the screen, but so far it looks promising.

Sweet Tooth premieres June 4 on Netflix.
