That’s the concept for Mark Raso’s new Netflix film Awake, which sees a global event wiping out the earth’s electricity and reducing humans to desperate, sleep-deprived husks.
The movie stars Gina Rodriguez, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Shamier Anderson, and Love and Monsters star Ariana Greenblatt as Matilda — a little girl who may be the key to unlocking the film’s mystery.
Awake lands on Netflix June 9.
