Ryan Murphy’s star-studded upcoming love letter to musicals for Netflix, The Prom, has dropped its first official trailer, following a delightful teaser released in October.

An adaptation of the Tony-nominated 2018 Broadway musical, The Prom sees Meryl Streep as Dee Dee Allen and James Corden as Barry Glickman, two New York stage stars whose latest Broadway show tanks. Meanwhile, Indiana high school student Emma Nolan (Jo Ellen Pellman) has been banned from attending prom with her girlfriend Alyssa (Ariana DeBose) — despite support from her principal (Keegan-Michael Key) and the PTA head (Kerry Washington).

When the ban hits social media, Dee Dee and Barry view Emma’s situation as a big PR opportunity, and they round up their actor friends Angie (Nicole Kidman) and Trent (Andrew Rannells) to seize on it. It backfires (shocker!) but there might be some way these celebrities can make it up to Emma.

If this trailer’s anything to go by, expect some gloriously large, opulent musical numbers.

The Prom hits Netflix Dec. 11.
