The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fans learned of a “great calamity” that occurred long before the events of that hit Nintendo Switch launch game. Now they’ll get to experience it for themselves.
Nintendo announced Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity on Tuesday as a pseudo follow-up to the original, first released for Wii U in 2014 (and later re-released for Switch). The new game comes from Koei Tecmo, just like its predecessor.
For anyone who’s not familiar with Warriors games, this isn’t your typical Zelda. Warriors games let players choose a hero and then sends them running off to fight entire armies worth of baddies. Age of Calamity spices things up by offering a look at the string of events that precipitated the beaten-down version of Hyrule you discover in Breath of the Wild.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be out for Nintendo Switch on Nov. 20.
