Here, we’re taking a look very specifically, however, at the best Apple Watches of today. New models and old are all on sale at this time. Apple Watch SE 2 (GPS, 40mm) — $170 $249 32% off
A ‘Prime Big Deal’ on the Apple Watch SE 2 that lives up to its name. This price is very attractive, and is about $15 lower than anything we’ve seen on an Apple Watch SE 2 this sales cycle, with the note that the case and band might be affecting that, despite the similar base price.
Apple Watch SE 2 (GPS, 40mm) — $181 $249 27% off
This deal is on the smaller 40mm version of the Apple Watch SE 2, which is notable because these designs are smaller than the Series 9 and Ultra watches. It’s a swimproof watch and an excellent way to get started with one of the best fitness trackers. This watch comes with the Starlight colored sports band as pictured above.
Apple Watch SE 2 (GPS + Cellular, 40mm) — $220 $299 26% off
This deal takes the smaller watch and adds the cellular option to it, all while keeping the price lower than the standard non-cellular version is during non-sale times. If you’re trying to reduce your screen time (at least on your phone, this technically has a screen, too!) then this is a fantastic deal for you.
Apple Watch SE 2 (GPS, 44mm) — $229 $279 18% off
The larger version of the SE 2 was featured in our Apple Watch SE 2 review, where we praised the watch as a comfortable wear 24/7. During the review, you’ll see that the SE 2 having a few less features (like blood Oxygen monitoring) was almost a plus as it kept things simple and the price low. (Note that the version on sale has a black sports band and is not the review copy pictured above.)
Apple Watch SE 2 (GPS + Cellular, 44mm) — $250 $329 24% off
Another deal on the SE 2 that brings the version with mobile down below the price of the GPS-only 40mm version. Our SE 2 review reminds us that we only need this version of the watch if we leave home often without our phone, such as to go for a jog. Still, if that’s you, this is the time to buy! Apple Watch Series 9 (GPS, 45mm) — $329 $429 23% off
The Apple Watch Series 9 is the one that introduces the unique double-tap where you tap your fingers together to get touch-free control of your watch. Surprisingly, this wasn’t the highlight of our Apple Watch Series 9 review, where the version was touted for being an excellent entry point into the series.
Apple Watch Ultra (GPS + Cellular, 49mm, renewed ‘Premium’-tier) — $449 $559 99% off
While you’d usually want to buy a completely new product when getting a deal offer, buying refurbished through Amazon Renewed’s Premium tier is essentially the same thing — the screen won’t have scratches and there will be no signs of any cosmetic damage unless you hold the watch close to your face (i.e. there may be scratches, but they’ll be the super tiny kind you’ll make quickly anyhow), and the watch will have >90% of its original battery life. Our Apple Watch Ultra review gives the watch a 5-out-of-5 star rating and praises the watch for its wide appeal — this is a smartwatch for everyone.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 (GPS + Cellular, 49mm) — $749 $799 6% off
You aren’t getting the biggest percentage ever off on this Apple Watch Ultra 2 deal, but it is still $50, and this is a Best Buy Big Deal Days deal so you can also trade in your old gear for additional money off. Among other things, our Apple Watch Ultra 2 review praised the watch for its bright, clear display, saying: “It’s the brightest display Apple’s ever included on an Apple Watch, and it really does look fantastic.”
How to choose an Apple Watch on Prime Day
The main consideration for getting an Apple Watch on Prime Day is if you want one of the latest Apple Watch models or are fine getting something older.
Right now, the big newcomer on the market is the Apple Watch Series 10 line of products. They pretty much just came out, however, so don’t expect major discounts just yet. On the other hand, they just came out, so this is your first chance to get one on a true sale price. It all depends on how you look at things.
With all of this excitement it is still important to note that there are a lot of similarities between the Apple Watch Series 10 and Series 9 and that the Series 10 is a “hard sell” to Series 9 owners. If you’re comfortable with something slightly less new and shiny (at least in the sense of release date) now is probably the best time there has ever been to get an Apple Watch Series 9. You could also consider going for the Ultra 2, a premium model released in 2023. Finally, even older models than this will have even better pricing. Again, its all about what you’re comfortable with.
How we chose these Apple Watch Prime Day deals
It would be nice to cite an intense methodology for this. With some categories of products, with Big Deal Days TV deals as a great example, we survey the field and pick different products for different consumer types and dive into our reviews and guides for a great consensus opinion.
Apple Watches are not a wide ranging category of product, however. There are only so many models to choose from.
Instead, we make sure to hone in on the fundamentals. Best Buy has Big Deal Days deals too, after all, as anybody is allowed to sell something for a discount on October 8 or October 9, and for us (and presumably you, too) getting the best price is more important than the retailer, so long as the retailer is trusted and vetted.
