There’s massive a PS5 and Xbox Series X restock planned today from at least two stores in the US, according to retailer and warehouses sources who contacted TechRadar over the last 24 hours.

The massive Thursday, March 25 restock may start at Target, with key employees at the retailer sharing details first with TechRadar and YouTuber Jake Randall regarding inventory. We hold that at a 80% chance for a PS5 restock, though 40% for an Xbox Series X restock – they just have less inventory of the console.

Retailer Antonline almost came out and said it’ll have a restock Thursday (90% odds), while Amazon, well, Amazon is overdue for a restock, but has shifted its scheduled dates on us before (25% chance). Walmart is confirmed to be carrying the Xbox Series X via Microsoft’s All Access bundle and financing plan (100% chance).

Target PS5 and Xbox restock date

Target employees, both at Target stores and their distribution centers, have told TechRadar that they have enough Disc-based consoles consistent with a PS5 restock, but fewer than past weeks (Target has had a restock every two weeks recently and today, March 25 will mark two weeks since the last drop). PS5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series X stock is even lower. Target favors early morning restocks. It has consistently chosen mornings at 7:45am EDT. That’s a rough restock time for the West coast of the US, so because it’s not 100% we suggest not disrupting your sleep patterns.

Antonline PS5 restock

Antonline just teased that it has “drops every week”, but the US store hasn’t done a single PS5 or Xbox restock this week. Hence, their PS5 restock date is Thursday or Friday (no major American retailers restock on weekends). Note: Antonline tends to sell out in three minutes, but when it goes on sale, there are no waves or in stock/out of stock funny business with the add to cart button.

If you get our PS5 restock alerts – like the one below – you have a shot… as long as you appreciate loaded bundles. It’s better than better than paying resellers.

Walmart Xbox Series X restock date confirmed

The Walmart Xbox Series X restock is confirmed to be happening today, Thursday, March 25 at 3pm EDT, according to an official statement sent to TechRadar by the retailer. The Xbox Series S will also be available to purchase. It should be noted that while we can confirm that this is one of two stores that we know will carry a next-gen console, both versions of the Xbox have to be purchased through a financing plan called Xbox All Access – it’s like buying it a phone over 24 months. Some people avoid that at all costs, others appreciate not having to pay for everything upfront.

Amazon PS5 restock date

Our white whale. Amazon is overdue for a PS5 restock, but nothing is ever confirmed at the online retail giant. We were sent information that a restock was scheduled for Thursday of last week with 46,000 consoles up for grabs, but that PS5 restock date clearly got shifted – and we’re not sure why. Amazon did have Xbox inventory already this week. Maybe it’ll offload those 46,000 console in inventory today.

What about the Best Buy PS5 restock date?

For the last five weeks, we’ve seen Best Buy open orders for a PS5 restock. We think it’s 50/50 for this Friday, March 26 based on the fact that Best Buy had fewer PS5 consoles on hand last Friday (PS5 Disc only, no Digital in the end) and it sold out very quickly (so less inventory). This could be a catch-up week, or maybe the US retailer will surprise us by opening orders for a sixth Friday in a row.

Official Sony Direct and Microsoft Xbox stores

Both Sony and Microsoft have official stores that restock their respective consoles. Sony Direct is the more useful of the two because the company has set up a lottery system to thwart resellers – you need a PSN account and it’s one per household. But the virtual queue is still randomized and while it happens on weekday afternoons, we never quite know when it’ll spring into action.

Microsoft teases its Xbox restock a lot. Instead of building up inventory, it turns on the ‘add to cart’ button every few days – but it lasts seconds. We’ve seen it live, we’ve done an immediate refresh, and notice the button says ‘Sold out’. There’s only enough time for a few people to ever get through. But, as always, we’re watching out for a big restock worth tweeting about at the Microsoft store.

Our Twitter track has helped thousands of new PS5 and Xbox buyers through push notifications – both consoles sell out in three minutes or less.
