It’s been a full month since NBC’s pretty solid Quantum Leap revival went on a midseason break to account for the holidays. But it won’t be too long a wait before the show returns: per Deadline, the remaining episodes of season two will begin airing on Tuesday, January 30.
For its last run of episodes, Quantum Leap will be migrating to Tuesday nights at instead of its previous Wednesday timeslot. The first three episode will air weekly, while the final pair will pair together on February 20 for a two-hour finale. TVLine notes the show’s sophomore season has been in the top five shows for the 18-49 age bracket and drawn in 3.9 million viewers on TV; across TV and streaming platforms altogether, the season’s had 4.9 million viewers, according to Deadline.

Quantum Leap’s pre-holidays episode ended with Tom (Peter Gadiot) giving Caitlin (Addison Augustine) information on a potential way to help Ben (Raymond Lee) make a definitive Leap home. After the episode aired, Nanrisa Lee, who plays security expert Jenn, told TVLine the team would naturally act on that information. “We’re going to see what’s at the end of that,” she said, “This is the point of what we’ve been trying to do since Ben left. […] We’ll see if it works!” And if things go to plan, it may lead to the team bringing original series lead Sam Beckett back to present day as well.

At time of writing, it’s unclear if Quantum Leap will get renewed for a third season. The show was safe from the cancellation spree networks were on during the Hollywood strikes—this season’s production was was nonstop before the strikes, and started right back up again once they ended. That said, the network greenlit season two during the first season’s holiday break in 2022 and prior to that, ordered an extra six episodes just a few weeks into the show’s launch.

Either way, Quantum Leap will return to NBC on January 30, with episodes dropping on Peacock the following day.
