The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is an extremely exciting handset – especially if you’re a Samsung fan. With a top-tier new chipset, an upgraded camera, a refined design, a bigger screen, and other changes – not to mention one of the biggest AI suites we’ve yet seen on a phone – there’s a whole lot here, so you may well be considering a purchase.
If you are, then this article has the important dates you need – most notably the day when the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will actually start shipping. But you’ll also find information on when the phone was announced, and when it went up for pre-order.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra announcement date
Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 Ultra on January 22, at an event in San Jose, California.
Alongside the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the company also announced the standard Samsung Galaxy S25 and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, as well as teasing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, and giving us another look at its Project Moohan augmented reality headset.
If you missed the event you can learn all about these devices here on TechRadar, and we’ve also got a look back at the Samsung Galaxy S25 launch as it happened.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra pre-order date
At the time of writing you can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra now, and you’ll have been able to do so on any date from January 22nd onwards, as pre-orders opened the same day as the phone was announced. February 6 is the final date when you’ll be able to make a pre-order, so there’s not long to go.
Deciding whether to pre-order or not can be a tricky decision – on the one hand, you might understandably want to wait until reviews are out to see whether the Galaxy S25 Ultra is actually worth buying, but on the other, there are various advantages to pre-ordering.
One is that you might get the phone early (more on which below), but the other – arguably bigger – advantage is that you can save some money or get some extras thrown in for free.
Exactly what you’ll get will depend on which country you’re in, which retailer you order from, and whether you’re also trading in a device, but some possibilities include a free storage upgrade, credit that you can use at Samsung’s store, extra trade-in credit, a free gift card, or a free accessory or other device (such as a Samsung Galaxy Watch 7).

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra on-sale date
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will go on sale on February 7, so that’s its actual release date. In other words, if you order it on February 7 then it should be immediately shipped to you (assuming it’s not out of stock), and you should also be able to walk into a store and buy it on this date.
Of course, if you wait until then you’ll also miss out on the pre-order perks, detailed above, and you’ll miss the chance to potentially get it early, with Samsung claiming that at the time of writing if you pre-order, deliveries of the Galaxy S25 Ultra will start on February 4 in the UK, and from February 6 in Australia.
This is if you order from Samsung directly, so the date might vary if you order elsewhere (and might also change, so check the current estimate when placing your order). That early availability also may not apply in the US, where the company’s site just says you’ll get it by February 7.
