We’ve only had a tiny glimpse of what to expect out of the third season of Star Wars: Visions, the animated anthology series that opens up the galaxy to a whole host of international animation studios. But now we have our first proper good look at some new and returning heroes—and when exactly we’ll get to meet them.

Lucasfilm has confirmed that Star Wars: Visions volume three will begin streaming on Disney+ October 29 with a new poster, depicting a whole host of characters from the upcoming series.

As reported earlier this year at Star Wars Celebration Japan, the new series will feature nine episodes from a whole host of Japanese animation studios, after the second volume released back in 2023 expanded the series’ scope to incorporate animation studios from around the world. Volume three will see Kamikaze Douga (working with Anima), Trigger, Production I.G., and Kinema Citrus all return, having worked on volume one, with Kamikaze Douga, Production I.G., and Kinema Citrus working specifically on sequel episodes to their volume one shorts: “The Duel: Payback,” “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope,” and “The Village Bride: The Lost Ones,” respectively. Trigger’s new short will be an original story, simply titled “The Smuggler,” while Kinema Citrus will also create a second original short, “Yuko’s Treasure.”

Newcomers to Star Wars: Visions for volume three include David Production (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure), working on the short “Black;” Wit Studio (Attack on TitanSpy x Family), on the short “The Bounty Hunters;” Polygon Pictures (Transformers PrimeTron: Uprising, and known in Star Wars for support work on Clone Wars and Resistance) on “The Bird of Paradise;” and Project Studio Q (Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time) on “The Song of Four Wings.”

Beyond the third volume of Visions, the series is set to return in a new format some time in 2026 with Star Wars Visions Presentsan extended-length format that sees prior participating studios return to past shorts and expound upon their worlds. The first Visions Presents will see Production I.G. and Kenji Kamiyama return to The Ninth Jedi to tell a new story seemingly separate from either the original Volume 1 short or “Child of Hope.”

Star Wars: Visions volume three will stream on Disney+ October 29.
