In a surprise move, Lionsgate has signed an interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA for the upcoming Hunger Games prequel film, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Variety reports. This means that the actors—including top-billed Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler—will be able to promote this film, and will very likely be walking the red carpet, making this a significant event for the entertainment industry after months of strikes.

Lionsgate, the distribution and production company behind The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, was able to sign the agreement with SAG-AFTRA because it is not a part of the AMPTP, which is currently in negotiations with the actors’ guild on the terms of its upcoming contract.

According to Variety, “With the interim agreement in place, the cast is expected to attend the film’s premieres in Berlin and London, as well as a fan event in Los Angeles.” Again, this kind of sweeping agreement for a massive property is deeply unusual, especially following rumors reported by the trades, like Deadline, that the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA might be nearing a deal.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes hits theaters November 17.
