A new Hitman content drop here, Le Chiffre from Casino Royale is coming to Hitman World of Assassination as a DLC elusive target!
I’m a huge Hitman fan, so I’m super excited to see what this is all about.
The GTA 6 killer get a new trailer
The Grand Theft Auto 6 killer Mindseye just got a new trailer!
I’m seeing lots of cinematics and a bit of third-person shooter gameplay.
It’s coming out in four days and getting a Hitman crossover apparently.
A trailer for the full launch of Scum.
A new trailer for The First Descendant! Something called The First Descendant Breakthrough, presumably an update?
Whatever it is, we’ll find out when it launches on August 7.
A message from Maggie Roberston now, the voice actor of everyone’s favorite big vampire in Resident Evil Village. She’s talking about the ongoing Capcom game sale… Thrilling stuff!
It’s called Scott Pilgrim EX, and will hit shelves in 2026.
A new Scott Pilgrim game is being shown!
Now this is a shocker! A new Scott Pilgrim beat-em-up game, with superb pixel-graphics.
A solo-dev game about hand-to-hand combat called Acts of Blood, coming Summer 2026.
It looks a little bit like Sifu. A lot like Sifu, even. This will probably be exciting if you like Sifu.
“We’ve got Hades 2 at home,” apparently. It’s some kind of roguelike experience.
I’m liking the look of the catboy character, I have to say.
It’s called Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, dropping September 19.
I’m seeing an amazing looking anime cutscene now, with some seriously menacing narration. What could this be?
Mixtape, an Annapurna Interactive game now.
It’s all about skateboarding, and growing up! It’s “coming soon”.
Another look at Dying Light: The Beast
Dying Light: The Beast was one of the games that most impressed me at Gamescom last year, and it looks absolutely great this time around too.
This is a standalone experience set in the Dyling Light universe, with returning character Kyle Crane.
It’s dropping on August 22, 2025.
Hollow Knight: Silksong mentioned in Deadpool VR reveal
Hollow Knight: Silksong was mentioned in the build-up to this reveal, but don’t get too excited!
It’s Deadpool VR! Exclusive to Meta Quest 3 and 3S.
Things are getting weird on stage, as Keighley was just handed a mysterious red letter…
A new title from Yacht Club Games now! It looks like an adorable retro throwback, and it’s coming out on October 31!
It’s called Mina The Hollower, and I’m looking forward to seeing more…
Jurassic World Evolution 3 get a release date
Jurassic World Evolution 3 is coming out on October 21, 2025.
Jurassic World Evolution 3? Yep, called it!
A tie-in game with a popular anime here: Seven Deadly Sins Origin.
I know nothing about the source material, so can’t say much about this one I’m afraid.
Crystal of Atlan is getting a One Punch Man crossover! Okay.
Blade & Soul Neo now, a game which is already out and already reviewed as ‘mostly negative’ on Steam. Ouch!
A smaller game now, with a really creepy tone and what looks like a focus on growing vegetables and cooking then. And also lots of weird horror stuff.
It’s called Fractured Blooms and, you know what, I’ll be there day one.
It’s got some pretty sweet art too!
Lies of P Overture gets a new trailer and surprise release
We’re seeing a new trailer for Lies of P Overture now, and boy does this DLC look sweet.
What’s that! It’s available today?
Nicktoons and the Dice of Destiny revealed
Nicktoons and the Dice of Destiny has been revealed, with loads of cartoon characters teaming up in one game.
I’m seeing Spongebob, and gameplay that looks a little underwhelming to be honest.
That was over fast! Fall 2025 release, apparently.
A cute Lego game up next! Lego Voyagers from the Lego Builder’s Journey team.
The visuals are crisp, with loads of little details that help them really like like a real Lego set come to life.
Mafia: The Old Country has a release date!
A release date has been confirmed! August 8, 2025.
Mafia: The Old Country now, with a new trailer for Summer Game Fest.
This is one game right at the top of my personal wishlist, and as a huge fan of the series I’m liking everything that I’m seeing.
If you love good crime stories, definitely check out some of the older games – or the amazing Mafia Definitive Edition remake.
A stop motion game now! With hand-crafted visuals that looks absolutely amazing. It’s a co-op game, which is definitely appealing.
Considering that massive success of Split Fiction, this could be big!
Another game, Mio Memories in Orbit was also just shown. A new metroidvania, with a demo on Steam that you can play right now!
A Wuthering Waves trailer now!
I’ve been meaning to check out this game for ages, but it’s never looked tempting enough for me to dive in.
It’s Crono Odyssey, and it’s getting a playtest on June 20.
Another game now, something fantasy related? A soulslike perhaps?
Yep, I’m seeing combat that looks very, very Dark Souls.
It’s Dune: Awakening time! I’m seeing some bald guy. Bald confirmed for Dune: Awakening.
This game is already out on Steam, though PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S releases are slated to drop at some point. Hopefully we’ll learn more about when to expect those shortly.
Arc Raiders finally gets a release date
Another game here, Arc Raiders! This is one highly anticipated release, and was originally revealed back in 2021.
This new trailer looks pretty excellent, though appears to mostly be cinematics rather than actual gameplay.
It has a release date now, though! Arc Raiders is coming out on October 30, 2025! Not long to go now…
A new game here called Killer Inn. It’s billed as a “murder mystery action game” and has you trying to find a killer in a high-octan murder party.
I quite like the look of this! Will it scratch that Among Us itch? We’ll have to wait and see.
It’s called Felt That Boxing, and looks like it might be some kind of spiritual successor to Punch Out!
An impressive puppet game shown
A really impressive trailer here for a brand-new game with an amazing puppet art-style. Everything is apparently running in real time on Unreal Engine 5, though it looks almost exactly like real-life puppets!
I’m pretty wowed by this, and can’t wait to learn more.
That’s Onimusha Way of the Sword, so not anything new. It’s coming in 2026.
It will be playable at GamesCom.
A Capcom trailer now! It certainly looks like an Onimusha game.
New Marvel Cosmic Invasion characters revealed
On to some new Marvel Cosmic Invasion details!
We’re getting two new characters today – She Hulk and Rocket Raccoon it looks like.
Okay, it turns out “the cube” is important. It’s The Cube Atomic Universe, some kind of MMORPG.
Something new from the same studio now. I’m hearing lots of talk of “the cube” – whatever that is.
No release date, but it is in “active development” according to Keighley.
Yep, that’s Atomic Heart 2.
With a new world, a new vehicle, some kind of grapple hook. Was that a glider?
The action is moving so quickly, it’s honestly a little hard to keep up.
Now time for a new announcement from the Atomic Heart devs. I’m thinking Atomic Heart 2?
It’s called Game of Thrones War for Westeros, coming in 2026. It’s up to wishlist now on Steam.
A real-time strategy title now, based on Game of Thrones!
No gameplay yet, but a cool cinematic nonetheless.
I’ll be honest, I’ve never actually seen Game of Thrones. Is it worth a watch?
Some Mouse: P.I. for Hire info here. This game has been on my radar for awhile, as it has an absolutely sublime art direction.
The new trailer confirmed that Troy Baker will feature in the game as a voice actor.
Not Little Nightmares, but something new called End of Abyss. It’s coming in 2026.
Something else here, looking pretty spooky and published by Epic Games.
I’m getting Little Nightmares vibes…
Called it! That’s Code Vein 2, coming in 2026. The first game was mega underrated, so I’m excited for that!
Wow! That’s grim. Some kind of enemy with a massive hole in its face.
I’ve included an image above, just in case you thought you wouldn’t get traumatised today.
Now time for a new action-RPG from Bandai Namco.
This looks like Code Vein! Or something super similar!
Online cross-platform matchmaking has been confirmed for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds too!
Hang on, what’s this! There’s some kind of Minecraft collab in this? Wild.
Okay, this is epic! Hatsune Miku, Ichiban Kasuga, and Joker from Persona 5 have all been confirmed as characters in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
We even have a release date, September 25, 2025!
Sonic Racing Crossworlds now! Keighley has promised new characters, but are we about to see a release date too?
That’s officially called Chronicles Medieval – honestly, a shockingly generic name.
It’s coming to PC in early access in 2026.
On to the next game! A new project from Raw Power Games in Denmark.
It features well-known actor Tom Hardy as a narrator, plus “epic battles” in a medieval setting.
Keighley has now brought in his co-host, Lucy James!
Keighley is now plugging the upcoming Death Stranding 2 presentation, promising a live gameplay demo. See the top of this page for details on when that is!
Here’s a picture live from the venue! That sure is Hideo Kojima alright.
Something sure seems to be kicking off. Like most of Death Stranding, I’m not really sure what all of that is about.
We did get the name for another character though, Lucy. Kojima is now describing both of them as important characters, though is holding back from providing more details in order to avoid spoilers…
Now it’s time for an exclusive Death Stranding 2: On the Beach clip!
We’re seeing what looks like some kind of in-game therapy session with new character Neil. It seems he is also a porter.
Hideo Kojima is now on stage! It should come as no surprise that he’s talking about Death Stranding 2 On the Beach – specifically the real-world influences that went into the game.
A “legendary game creator” is taking the stage. Is it Hideo Kojima? Yes.
Keighley is back, talking about Fortnite. Something about the Death Star and some kind of live event.
Oh, now onto an “exclusive look” at the game’s next big live event.
Yep, that’s a Mortal Shell follow-up alright! It’s called Mortal Shell 2 – not a very imaginative title, is it.
Coming in 2026.
On to the first game, I’m getting really big Mortal Shell vibes from this. A potential sequel?
More shots here from our reporter on the ground! The atmosphere is apparently electric.
And here he is discussing the ten biggest selling new games on steam, praising indies in addition to big hits like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Here he is!
The man, the myth, the legend. Geoff Keighley.
He’s currently talking about the show, promising looks at “dozens of games from studios big and small”.
The show begins…
The Summer Game Fest 2025 show is officially underway!
I’m a very happy boy, as I’ve just had my first glorious glimpse of Keighley tonight. I’m sure there will be many more to come.
Here come the announcements, so stay right here for everything you need to know and all my reactions.
Remember our reporter on the ground I mentioned? There he is above, in a cheeky selfie taken just before the show started.
Enjoying the groovy tunes?
There’s nothing happening on the stream right now, aside from some groovy tunes of course.
Are you enjoying the Summer Game Fest 2025 mixtape? I quite like it!
Just 15 minutes to go!
Code red! This is not a drill! We now have only 15 minutes to go until the start of the Summer Game Fest main show.
We’re reaching peak excitement here at TechRadar Gaming HQ, with almost our entire team in a Google Meet waiting for the stream to start.
I’m also trying to get an update from our man on the ground in Los Angeles… Last I heard he was travelling to the venue, so should be there any minute now.
180,000 gamers have tuned in
The main show may not have officially started quite yet, but that hasn’t stopped thousands of eager gamers from tuning in.
Right now, more than 180,000 people are watching the official stream – and that number is shooting upwards by the second!
Of course, that’s not including viewers on other platforms like Twitch – so the real number of people watching is probably much, much higher than that.
Take your seats, there is now only 30 minutes to go
There’s just 30 minutes to go until the Summer Game Fest 2025 main show begins. Head to your seats, get the stream ready, and relax.
The stream is up!

The Summer Game Fest stream is officially up on YouTube. With the show set to start soon, I would recommend getting it ready in your browser window.

Just a note – please, do keep it civil though! I’ll probably get in big trouble with my boss if I include anything with bad language.
Good evening my Keighley crew! I’m back, ready to kick my Summer Game Fest 2025 coverage up a gear as we get even closer to the main show.
We’re in the final stretch now, with under an hour until we get to bask in Geoff’s glory. It’s time to start making your final preparations. Grab some snacks, make sure you have a drink on hand, and brace yourself for a blast of non-stop gaming goodness.
How long is the main show? It’s expected to last around two hours, so I would recommend getting all your supplies ready so that you don’t need to leave your seat. After all, you wouldn’t want to miss the reveal of your most-wanted game, would you?
I’m back!
Though only for a moment to let you know that the Summer Game Fest main show kicks off in exactly three hours.
I wonder what kind of outfit Geoff will be wearing? I’m personally betting on the classic graphic t-shirt and blazer combo.
Anyway, it’s back to dinner for me – my chicken is almost done! I’ll see you all again soon…
It’s nearing the end of the day here in the UK, so I’m going to head off soon for a little dinner.
Don’t go anywhere, though, as I’ll be back shortly before the start of the show to bombard you with live reactions and news as all the announcements happen!
The show is mere hours away
Today it’s time to get a look at what’s next for video games.Join us and the video game industry for #SummerGameFest.Global livestream at 5p ET / 2p PT / 10p BST / 11p CEST / 6a JST at https://t.co/59xiIzf5AN pic.twitter.com/JM0Ud4bzkxJune 6, 2025
With a matter of hours to go until the Summer Game Fest main show, Keighley has taken to X / Twitter with a quick reminder of when it’s set to kick off.
If you yourself have forgotten that time, it’s 5PM ET / 2PM PDT / 10PM BST / 11PM CEST today!
I have also received a few more thoughts from Isaiah, this time on what Pearl Abyss could be showing…
“Pearl Abyss is on the Summer Game Fest roster, and unless we’re about to see a surprise Dokev appearance (which would be weird right as marketing for Crimson Desert is ramping up), I want a Crimson Desert shadowdrop. I’m not deluded, I swear!
But seriously though, I’m expecting arelease date at the very least, since we already know it will launch in fall this year.”

Isaiah Williams
Don’t worry if you’re not all in on virtual reality gaming, as I also asked Hamish for his more general thoughts:
“Outside of VR, I’m desperate to get an update on Kingdom Hearts 4.
We got some screenshots from Square Enix a few weeks ago along with the promise that more details will come at the right time. I’m an impatient fan, so I’m hoping Summer Game Fest 2025 is the right time for a new trailer – especially following the disappointing news that the Missing-Link mobile game has been cancelled, meaning 4 is now our only bet for a new KH release.
A more general Final Fantasy announcement could make a lot of sense too, especially given the soon to release Final Fantasy x Magic: The Gathering collaboration. The set design is phenomenal and I imagine there will be a lot of people looking to experience (or re-experience) the Final Fantasy series because of it – I know I will be.”

Hamish Hector
I also asked TechRadar VR expert Hamish Hector what he thinks might be shown:
“Dash has asked me to offer up some big VR game predictions ahead of Summer Game fest, so what do I think we might see?
The team behind Batman: Arkham Shadow teased they’d be releasing post-launch content for the title, and, while we’ve seen some, I’m hoping we get a chunky expansion to sink our teeth into – and Summer Game Fest could be a great place to showcase that.
Following the success of the recent Hitman: World of Assassination port I’ve said I’m hoping other games will get the flat-to-VR treatment on the PSVR 2 headset. I don’t think for a second it will actually happen but a God of War VR port could be a blast – and would tie into the series being 20 years old this year. So maybe that’ll get announced.”

Hamish Hector
If Isaiah’s prediction of a Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC comes true, this is what he’s hoping to see:
“I only have one simple request. Capcom, please give us Bitterblack Isle 2.0, and I’ll be happy. If there’s no RE9, I can at least be happy to slay some more gobli–… well, no. No more goblins, please! There were way too many in the base game”

Isaiah Williams
Now on to Computing Staff Writer Isaiah Williams, who is mulling over the idea of a new Resident Evil:
“Capcom’s appearance at Summer Games Fest makes a long-awaited Resident Evil 9 reveal a distinct possibility.
After the masterpiece that was the Resident Evil 4 remake, I’ve been waiting two years for this moment, and since there was no luck with PlayStation’s State of Play, this is my next hope.
Even so, as much as I want a reveal to be on the cards, I can think of a few reasons why it might not happen.
Antoher announcement would seem out of place considering Capcom already has Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword slated for 2026.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen marketing for three games simultaneously (especially considering the magnitude of Resident Evil).
A more realistic expectation would maybe be more gameplay for either of those IPs, a Street Fighter 6 Year 3 roster reveal, or (one from my personal wishlist) a Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC.”

Isaiah Williams
I’ve also asked our Computing Editor if he has any insight:
“Geoff is going to do some talking and perhaps there may even be games.”

Christian Guyton
Team fitness guru and long-time gamer Matt Evans also has some Final Fantasy predictions to share:
“Well, this is less a prediction, and more wishful thinking. Final Fantasy 9, the last PlayStation Final Fantasy, unique for being drenched in whimsy and featuring an original medieval-steampunk setting, is my favorite game and its long-rumored remake is well overdue.
We first heard about the remake in a big 2021 Nvidia leak of upcoming Square Enix games. Eight games were included in that leak, and since then, seven out of eight have been announced, with the Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster having been unveiled just this week. The missing game? Yep, you’ve guessed it: Final Fantasy 9 Remake.
I’m putting on my clown makeup and hoping against hope that Final Fantasy 9 Remake is being announced at this year’s Summer Games Fest. It helps that leaker ‘NatetheHate’ has stated that Square Enix won’t be announcing anything about Kingdom Hearts 4 today, implying the announcement is about something else, and this year is 9’s 25th anniversary. It makes too much sense.
Please, Square.”

Matt Evans
Some of our key predictions…
With the Summer Game Fest main show getting closer by the minute, I asked some members of the TechRadar team to share their biggest predictions and wishes.
First up, Staff Writer James Davidson with some thoughts on the likely hood of a major Final Fantasy tease…
“I have a suspicion that we’ll be getting a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 reveal at Summer Games Fest. More specifically in the form of an official title and potentially even release date.
The game is already confirmed to be in development and is the conclusion to the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, following on from Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Why would a reveal at Summer Game Fest 2025 make sense? Because at the same event in 2023 is where they revealed Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s first gameplay trailer.
While a gameplay trailer is unlikely for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, as Rebirth only launched last year, a teaser is a possibility. As a Final Fantasy fan, I’ve got my fingers crossed for a few announcements!”

James Davidson
How to watch the PC Gaming Show
This year’s PC Gaming Show will kick off on Sunday, June 8 at 12PM PDT / 3PM ET / 8PM BST / 9PM CEST on platforms including YouTube, X / Twitter, Facebook, Steam, and, of course, the PC Gamer website.
The show will be hosted by Mica Burton, Sean “Day[9]” Plott and Frankie Ward and feature a look at more than 70 games from publishers such as Ubisoft, Devolver Digital, and Blumhouse games.
Some highlights confirmed so far include a first- look at new content coming to Ultrakill, more info on Paralives, and a new game reveal from Vampire Survivors developer Poncle. There will also be a high-end PC giveaway for those watching, with more details to be revealed while the stream is underway.
Having watched previous PC Gaming Show events closely, this is one that I definitely wouldn’t miss – so mark your calendars! There are likely going to be some pretty major reveals, but I also always appreciate some of the cool-looking indie games that get spotlights.
I’m back! I’ve just had some fresh details through about the upcoming PC Gaming Show, so let’s dive into those now.
And with that, I’m going to go grab some lunch! But don’t go anywhere, as I’ll be back very soon to pick up the Summer Game Fest coverage once again….
Will Halo come to PS5?
With lots of Xbox exclusive games jumping ship to PlayStation, there’s been plenty of speculation about whether Halo will also take the leap.
For my money, it’s pretty likely – though I’m not sure if we’ll see anything about it tonight. Over on Reddit, lots of gaming fans have been speculating about a potential Halo Infinite shadow drop, which would certainly be cool.
I was quite disappointed in Halo Infinite when it first released, but after a few years of updates it’s actually now a pretty good shooter. Still, player counts are low and finding online matches can sometimes be a drag.
A surprise PS5 release would definitely help revitalise the game, something that it desperately needs.
Will Microsoft and Asus team up?
I’m personally predicting that if any kind of new Xbox handheld is revealed over Summer Game Fest, it will be a model made be Asus. Photos leaked last month of some kind of Xbox-branded Asus ROG Ally 2, complete with its own Xbox button.
Whether or not it will show up in the Xbox Games Showcase, which is set to occur on June 8, is yet to be seen, but you can bet that I will be here covering all the announcements live so you’ll be the first to know if it does.
Capcom’s massive Summer Game Fest sale has begun!
It has loads of PlayStation discounts on games from series like Resident Evil and Devil May Cry.
I think we’re all hoping for a new Resident Evil game tonight, but now I’m wondering whether this sale is a sign of what’s in store or just a coincidence.
Either way, if there’s one entry in the franchise that you’re missing, or if you’ve never played a Resident Evil title before, this sale is the perfect opportunity to nab it on the cheap.
Expect plenty of games coming to Switch 2
If you somehow missed it, the Nintendo Switch 2 was released yesterday and already seems like it’s going to be hugely popular.
Given the timing of Summer Game Fest, I would expect to see a lot of games announced for Nintendo Switch 2.
While we probably won’t get any new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives, I expect tonight’s stream in particular to be packed with third-party releases that will be coming to Switch 2 in addition to other platforms.
Will we see Hollow Knight: Silksong?
Hollow Knight: Silksong is without a doubt one of the most highly anticipated games right now, but its release timeline is shrouded in mystery.
Despite being in development for years, the only real look at it we’ve had was a brief clip in the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct stream. Will it show up at Summer Game Fest? Only time well tell, but it might be more likely than you think.
According to SteamDB, the game’s Steam data recently received a load of behind the scenes updates. This could mean anything, though often occurs before major changes to a game’s store page (like the addition of a release date and new assets) or a surprise release.
Hopefully this is a sign of what’s to come, and we’ll get a new trailer tonight…
How to get the Future Games Show Twitch drop
If you’re a fan of The Finals, then you shouldn’t miss the chance to secure an exclusive Twitch drop. To claim it, you just need to watch 15 consecutive minutes of the Future Games Show on the official Twitch channel .
So far, we already know that the Future Games Show Summer Showcase will feature a new trailer for Director 8020, a detailed breakdown of Hell is Us, and lots of new content for The Finals.
This is on top of loads of exclusive reveals, developer commentary, and more. There will even be a ‘Ones to Play’ section, showing games with demos that will be available to play immediately.
How to watch the Future Games Show
The Future Games Show Summer Showcase is back this year as part of Summer Game Fest.
The event, which shows off a wide range of upcoming games, will be hosted by prominent voice actors Laura Bailey and Matthew Mercer.
The show starts at 1PM PT / 4PM ET / 9PM BST / 10PM CEST this Sunday, June 7.
You will be able to tune in via almost every platform under the sun, including Twitch, YouTube, X / Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and even on Steam!
The main show is later today!
Good morning everyone! I’m back for another day Summer Game Fest 2025 coverage, and what a day it is already shaping up to be.
We’re currently in the build-up to the Summer Game Fest main show, which takes place today at 5PM ET / 2PM PDT / 10PM BST / 11PM CEST.
As always, I’ll be here to guide you through the run up to the event and provide plenty of coverage as it goes live.
It’s nearing the end of the day here in the UK, so I’m going to head off soon!
I’ve got a shiny new Nintendo Switch 2 in my bag, and can’t wait to dive in to some Mario Kart World tonight.
I’ll be back soon, though, to guide you through the exciting build-up to Summer Game Fest.
See you later gamers.
Xbox has posted a little tongue-in-cheek teaser about what’s going to be shown in the Xbox Games Showcase…
SPOILER ALERT! Here’s what’s going down at Xbox Games Showcase: pic.twitter.com/PrIHuVw5OQJune 4, 2025
As you might expect, we’re going to see lots and lots of games – followed by a look at The Outer Worlds 2, of course.
Carrying on with my Xbox Games Showcase predictions, I’m expecting some new hardware reveals too.
I would be shocked if we don’t get news on a new Xbox handheld, as rumors have been suggesting that one has been in the works for awhile now. Rather than something made by Microsoft, I’m expecting a licensed handheld from another manufacturer – potentially a laptop brand like Asus or Lenovo.
There also might be a new Xbox controller revealed. I really, really, really want a new Xbox Elite Controller – as the Elite Series 2 is seriously dated at this point. I won’t get into why I don’t think its worth its price in 2025 (you can read all about it in my ‘here’s why you shouldn’t buy an Xbox Elite Series 2‘ op-ed from last year if you’re curious), but an update is definitely needed.
Hopefully we’ll get an Elite Series 3 announcement soon…
What will we see in the Xbox Game Showcase?
Aside from the main show, the subsequent Xbox Games Showcase is easily one of the biggest Summer Game Fest events. What do I think is going to be in store this year?
When it comes to games, I’m expecting another look at Gears of War: Reloaded, which was announced last month. Some more news on State of Decay 3, which has been in the works for years now, is definitely likely too I think – it’s been so long that I would be shocked if we don’t get any more info.
I’m also expecting (and personally hoping) for a trailer for the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle DLC. I was a huge fan of the base game, so would love a good reason like this to dive back in.
I know what you’re all wondering. Is Geoff Keighley even real?
He may seem like a bit of a mythical figure, but I can confirm that he does in fact actually exist. I’ve even met him! He attended one of the illustrious, VIP-only Gamescom after parties last year, along with other industry high flyers… and me.
It’s not just Geoff….
Keighley may be the most prominent face of Summer Game Fest, but that doesn’t mean he is the only presenter at the event.
He has recently taken to social media to announce his co-host for the main show: Lucy James. James is a prominent face in video content for both GameSpot and Giant Bomb, so seems like a very strong choice.
Excited to welcome @lucyjamesgames to #SummerGameFest on Friday, she will be co-hosting the live showcase.See you on Friday! pic.twitter.com/cA3Subd6UyJune 4, 2025
Who is Geoff Keighley?
If you’re interested in Summer Game Fest, then you’ve undoubtedly heard the name Geoff Keighley more times than you can count. But who exactly is he?
A former game journalist turned present, Keighley had a strong career writing for outlets like Kotaku and GameStop, mainly focusing on long-form deep-dives into major games and studios.
He also frequently appeared on television, becoming a prominent face at events like E3.
Now, he helms his own events and shows acting as both the host and organizer – including the Game Awards and Summer Game Fest.
State of Play recap
Though seperate from the main show – yesterday’s PlayStation Sate of Play presentation was part of Summer Game Fest. I covered the event live (absolutely obliterating my sleep schedule in the process) and it was definitely a strong showing.
If you missed the chance to watch it at the time, I’ve got you covered with a full list of everything announced in the order in which it happened.
