“Fear does not exist in this Zoom, does it? Pain does not exist in this Zoom, does it? Defeat does not exist in this Zoom, does it?”

We’ve had Lord of the Rings, we’ve had Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and we’ve had Back to the Future — now, next up on actor Josh Gad’s ongoing quest to bring cult movie casts back together via the magic of Zoom, we have the stars of classic 1984 film The Karate Kid, sequels The Karate Kid II and The Karate Kid Part III, and the recent Cobra Kai sequel series on Netflix

Teased in a trailer last week and premiering Monday, the latest episode of Gad’s YouTube series Reunited Apart sees his biggest Zoom call, featuring Ralph Macchio, Elizabeth Shue, William Zabka, and more swapping stories and reliving scenes from John G. Avildsen’s timeless martial arts classic. Gad also pays tribute to the legendary Pat Morita, who received an Oscar nomination for his performance as Mr. Miyagi in the series, and who died in 2005 at age 73.

Shue kicks things off with that twist on Robert Mark Kamen/John Kreese’s iconic movie quote above — she made her big screen debut in The Karate Kid as Ali Mills. Self-confessed superfan Amy Schumer turns up to quiz the whole Zoom on their trivia knowledge. And best of all, the whole thing’s to raise awareness for global humanitarian organisation Action Against Hunger.
