The Last of Us Gets Season 2 Release Window, Plus First Look at It Prequel Footage and More

As expected, HBO just confirmed that season two of The Last of Us won’t arrive until 2025. Which is certainly a long time but was mostly expected, since filming won’t begin until early next year. In the meantime though, fans of similar genre content have a ton more to look forward to and a new trailer puts a spotlight on all of it.

HBO just released a trailer previewing all the shows it’s got coming in 2024. For us, the biggest, of course, is season two of House of the Dragon, which recently released its first trailer. But there’s also Armando Iannucci’s The Franchise, Matt Reeves’ The Penguin, and the tentatively titled Welcome to Derry, a prequel to Stephen King’s It.
