SAVE $102: The 55-inch Samsung TU8300 Series Crystal UHD 4K smart TV (UN55TU8300FXZA) is on sale at Walmart for just $497.99 as of June 9 — that’s 17% off its $599.99 MSRP.

Curved monitors had a bit of a moment in mid-2020 when people decided to upgrade their work-from-home setups, and for good reason: A display with a subtle angle to it isn’t just easier on your eyeballs than a completely flat one, but by filling up more of your peripheral vision for a “wraparound” feel, it can also boost your productivity (similar to a dual-monitor workstation, minus the extra equipment).

With that in mind, it’s super easy to see the appeal of a curved *TV*: When you apply that same sort of ~immersion factor~ to a home theater, you feel like you’re a part of the action no matter what angle you’re viewing from — not just front and center. (Have you ever watched a movie in an IMAX theater, where the panoramic picture plunges you right into the scene? It’s the same sort of idea, just adapted for the small screen.)

Want to see what all the fuss is about? As of June 9, Samsung’s 55-inch TU8300 Series display (a curved, Crystal UHD 4K smart TV) was on sale at Walmart for just $497.99 — that’s a whole $102 off its suggested retail price of $599.99 and an exact match of its Prime Day deal last year, according to the price-tracking site camelcamelcamel. (Note: We also saw it listed for the same price on Amazon at the time of writing.)

Samsung is one of the bigger names in the curved TV market, having gone all-in on the technology back in 2014 when it was still considered sort of gimmicky (as opposed to a genuine selling point). The TU8300 Series is a newer model from last August with a bunch of modern must-haves, including a crisp 4K UHD picture; an Ambient Mode that lets you display pictures when you’re not watching TV; a gaming mode that minimizes lag; and multiple built-in smart assistants. (There’s Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant in addition to Samsung’s own Bixby). Plus, it comes with a stand that’s specially designed to minimize ugly cord clutter.

What’s especially nice about this particular display is that it can actually do double duty in your home office. Simply enable its Remote Access feature to mirror your computer’s display wirelessly onto its screen, and bam — you’ve DIYed a gigantic curved monitor.
