The word schadenfreude has been thrown around a lot lately.
It’s a German word that describes the feeling of when you revel in someone else’s misery. Given that Joe Biden just won the presidential election, his supporters will probably be experiencing this unique feeling toward Donald Trump and his fans.
Biden voters can look no further than Fox News, the cable network that propped up the president since his first election run. Anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum announce that the president-elect has won with a solemn tone as if someone just died. MacCallum doesn’t hesitate to tell viewers that, by the numbers, Trump received more votes this election than he did in 2016… but it clearly wasn’t enough.
Watch for that sweet, sweet schadenfreude.
