Netflix Wednesday

Netflix physical releases are rare, for obvious reasons—why give fans a Blu-ray when they can just stream whatever they’re dying to re-watch? But the service will do it when demand is high enough (see: Stranger Things, The Witcher), and mega-hit Wednesday is now joining that rare club.

Wednesday season one will be getting a physical media release on Blu-ray and DVD March 26 (pre-order here), welcome news for all those collectors out there. With popular properties often disappearing or glitching on the streamers, it’s a relief to see more getting the home entertainment treatment. Soon, Wednesday can sit on your shelf with your Tim Burton collections. A press release made no mention of special features as part of the release, but Thing has his fingers crossed!

The Jenna Ortega-led show from creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville) and director Tim Burton (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice) is Netflix’s most-watched English language series, with 252.1 million views. Those numbers are probably thanks in part to a whole lot of Wednesday prom scene choreography practice, from when the show’s iconic scene went viral on TikTok set to Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary”—or of course just the sheer kooky and spooky charms of Wednesday’s coming of age story.
