Loki’s Tom Hiddleston is already aboard as The Life of Chuck’s title character, and Mark Hamill—coming off an excellent turn in Mike Flanagan’s The Fall of the House of Usher—is also a known part of the cast. But Flanagan’s next big-screen project, which marks a return to Stephen King for the Doctor Sleep and Gerald’s Game helmer, has just added several new names to its cast, including a pair of Hiddleston’s Marvel teammates.

Deadline reports that The Life of Chuck, written and directed by Flanagan and adapted from King’s 2020 If It Bleeds novella collection, has brought in Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Man Who Fell to Earth, 12 Years a Slave) and Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), as well as acclaimed teen actor Jacob Tremblay (The Little Mermaid, Room). No details were given on their characters.

According to King’s website, The Life of Chuck “is three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse, beginning with his death from a brain tumor at 39 and ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.” The other novellas in the anthology include Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, which was adapted into a Netflix film by writer-director John Lee Hancock last year. The Life of Chuck, which is covered by an interim agreement, is currently in production.
