TL;DR: During the Feb. 18 Nintendo Direct, the company announced that Splatoon 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD are coming to Nintendo Switch — they’re both up for pre-order for $59.99.
Feb. 18 marked the first official Nintendo Direct since late 2019, and Nintendo had plenty of exciting things to show off (Mario Golf, anyone?).
While a lot of new games were announced (and are now available to purchase), two games made waves following the big presentation: Splatoon 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. Both are now up for pre-order, so if the announcements got you excited, you might as well secure your copies now.
Splatoon 3 is the latest in the Splatoon series, in which teams of Inklings and Octolings fight for turf using all sorts of ink-slinging weaponry. While not yet confirmed, the newly released trailer for the game seemed to insinuate that there could be some sort of story mode with open areas to explore within the sun-scorched Spatlands. Sadly, the game isn’t coming out until 2022, so you’ll be waiting a bit to play.
The HD remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be coming sooner than that (July 16), and will be a fresh version of the motion-controlled Zelda journey. For players who don’t love motion controls, a new button-only mode has been added to the game so you can enjoy it as well. Special edition Joy-Con controllers are launching alongside the game, too.
Both titles are scarcely available for pre-order at the moment, but below is where you can get them at the time of writing.
